Things are getting freaky at CinemaCon!
At CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 3, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan teamed up to reveal new details about the long-awaited sequel to 2003’s Freaky Friday. Titled Freakier Friday, the new film sees Lohan, 38, and Curtis, 66, reprise their roles as mother-daughter duo Anna and Tess Coleman, respectively.
As part of Disney’s presentation at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace Thursday, the actresses gave fans “a special look at the film.”
“We can’t begin to tell you how amazing it’s been to be back in Ana and Tessa’s shoes,” Lohan said.
Playfully correcting her, Curtis added, “Yes, but we don’t spend that much time in those shoes actually since this Friday is even freakier because this time we have doubled the swaps.”
According to Lohan, fans will “get to see Jamie and I take on all new personalities because we find the bodies we have swapped with our teenage counterparts.”
Meanwhile, Curtis promised viewers would also see her like “never before thanks to a very aggressive teenage makeover.”
Both actresses agreed that the upcoming film would provide lots of laughter and sing-a-longs.
“It was really, really exciting and fun to experience,” Lohan said.
“We made this movie this year with love, a lot of love, and we made it specifically to be experienced on the big screen and with a big crowd. The only way you should see a Freaky Friday movie,” Curtis said, adding, “Now, it wouldn’t be CinemaCon if you all didn’t get to see the first footage from the movie, no one has seen this except you. This was made for you. So we brought you a special look at the film, so enjoy it and we will see you this summer.”

As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice,” teases a synopsis.
More original cast members will return for the sequel, including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao.
Also presented at the CinemaCon event at Caesar’s Palace were Disney’s panels for Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
