Jana Kramer Refuses to Reveal Whether She Signed a Prenup With Husband Allan: ‘Will Not Discuss That’

Jana Kramer may — or may not — have signed a prenup with husband Allan Russell, but she will never tell.

During the Wednesday, February 5, episode of the “I Do Part 2” podcast, Kramer, 41, was asked by cohost Cheryl Burke whether she signed a prenup with Russell, and she refused to answer.

“We have never discussed that [on this podcast]. We’re still not going to discuss that,” Kramer told Burke, 40. “But it was a very long conversation. We had a lot of conversations around it.”

Kramer hinted that Russell, 44, was apprehensive, adding, “It’s really hard for men to have that conversation, especially because my husband is very old-school. He did not love the idea of it.”

Despite speaking openly about her postnup with ex-husband Mike Caussin, Kramer refused to reveal what decision she and Russell made out of respect for him.

“Whatever we decided was a private matter. But it was something that was very important,” she noted. “I’ll just say it was very important to me because of how much my ex-husband took. My divorce attorney was definitely like, ‘You are signing this. I’m just like, ‘OK, I hear you and I need to have conversations. It’s a conversation because I am old-school, and the fact that I do believe in love and a marriage actually lasting, I didn’t get it right this go-around [with Mike].”

Before finding love with Russell, Kramer and Caussin, 37, had a tumultuous relationship. They got married in 2015 and separated the following year after Us Weekly broke the news that the retired athlete had been unfaithful. After Caussin sought treatment for sex addiction, the pair reconciled and renewed their vows in 2017.

In April 2021, Us confirmed that Kramer filed for divorce after nearly six years of marriage. They finalized their divorce three months later. Kramer mentioned on Wednesday’s podcast that she was told by her attorney at the time of their split that a postnup was not as effective in court as a prenup, which led to her paying child support and a lump sum to Caussin.

Kramer subsequently moved on with Russell, whom she met through social media. After six months of dating, the duo announced in May 2023 that they were engaged, and one month later Kramer confirmed her pregnancy. (The actress shares kids Jolie, 8, and Jace, 6, with Caussin and son Roman, 14 months, with Russell.)

“A forever with you just feels right and has done since the day I met you @kramergirl I’m proud to call you my fiancé and cherish every minute we spend together ❤️ I love you my little warrior xxx,” Russell wrote via Instagram.

On her “Whine Down” podcast at the time, Kramer opened up about Caussin’s reaction to her engagement.

“He was like, ‘Hey, I’m really happy for you. Allan’s a great guy.’ Actually, I started to cry because he goes, ‘Of all people, you deserve to have someone that loves you and respects you and you deserve this,’” she recalled. “He’s like, ‘After everything I put you through, you deserve this more than anyone.’ It meant so much to me that he said that.”
