Jason Kelce is still staying fit after leaving the NFL — and he’s made a noticeable transformation.
During the Wednesday, March 26, episode of the “New Heights” podcast, the former Philadelphia Eagles center shared the results of a recent DXA scan, which can be used to measure body composition.
“[My friend] Beau Allen reached out and he said, ‘Hey, do you wanna do a competition on who can lose the most body fat percentage but still gain muscle?’” Jason, 37, told his brother and podcast cohost, Travis Kelce. “I don’t know, Beau wants to have some competition, so we agreed to get DXA scans.”
Jason admitted that it was “kind of embarrassing” to see such a detailed breakdown of his body. “I’m not gonna lie, it’s a good calf to hamstring ratio, I think,” he joked.

Jason Kelce decided to slim down after announcing his NFL retirement in March 2024. “Right now, I’m about 277. I’m almost 20 pounds down right now,” Kelce told GQ in June 2024. “It’s hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you. But my back already feels better. My knees already […]
He went on to ask Travis, 35, to guess his “total mass.” The tight end — who was initially confused by the question — predicted Jason weighed 283 pounds.
“Close, close,” Jason said, revealing that he weighs 276.6 pounds.
Travis was impressed, saying, “You’ve lost 30 pounds? That’s crazy,” but Jason quickly set the record straight.
“I’ve lost 20 pounds. I was never heavier than 300 — well, I did maybe a couple times tip 300 in the NFL,” Jason said, adding that the scan revealed he has 21 percent body fat.
When pressed for more details about his competition with Allen, a fellow former NFL pro, Jason joked that it was partially a result of retirement boredom. “Beau and I are gonna try and lose as much body fat percentage as possible in three months. We have the Ocean Drive event that we do for the Eagles Autism Foundation that we do every year,” he explained.
The former teammates agreed on a points system to track their progress. “Beau was really specific in the way he wanted this judged,” Jason said. “Then he said the loser has to wear a Speedo at the Ocean Drive event. … It feels like Beau just wants to wear a Speedo.”
Instead of the swimsuit punishment, Jason opened the floor to fans for suggestions, teasing, “We’ll take it to a poll.”
Jason retired from the NFL in March 2024 after 13 seasons. Later that year, he revealed that his wife, Kylie Kelce, was holding him accountable when it comes to his fitness.
“She just implemented this, but she said I have to work out a minimum of three days a week, otherwise she doesn’t want to deal with me,” he said on the “Green Light With Chris Long” podcast in August 2024. “When I’ve worked out, I am in a great mood; I interact well at home with my kids and everybody — I just am a better person.”
The couple — who share daughters Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 3, and Bennett, 2 — are gearing up to welcome their fourth baby girl. Earlier this year, Jason confessed that he and Kylie have discussed a potential vasectomy.
“I think Kylie’s about coming to the end of wanting to pop these things out. I think this pregnancy has been a long [one] for her,” he said on “The Steam Room” in February. “This is our fourth girl [and] this one might be it. We’ll see.”
