Jason Tartick Reunites With Dog Teddy After Completing His Training Program

Jason Tartick and his dog Teddy are back together.

The Bachelorette alum, 36, shared the good news on Instagram on Friday, June 6. Tartick had sent Teddy to a dog training program, something the reality star said was necessary for his pet’s “happiness and safety.”

“Reunited at last!! Teddy is back and doing so well!” Tartick captioned the post, which featured a series of photos of himself embracing Teddy. “Given his past, with abuse and neglect, addressing his reactivity was so important to his happiness and safety.”

He continued, “After training, his peace of mind with other people, dogs and even moving objects like cars and bikes is truly a dream. This guy has 16 different breeds in his DNA; from Great Pyrenees and German Shepherd to Anatolian Shepherd and Chow Chow, which was so important to understand through his training process.”

“I have been dedicated and invested in his training from day 1 of adoption, and it’ll be ongoing from here on out. Needless to say, I have so much comfort and confidence in saying that Teddy has officially been rescued in many more ways than one….and bc of him, so have I,” Tartick concluded.

Tartick adopted the dog in March after a pet custody dispute with his ex, Kaitlyn Bristowe. “Not sure who rescued who, but we got each other,” he wrote via social media on March 5. “Thank you @wagsandwalksnashville.”

Tartick also asked his followers to help him name the dog. “My new best buddy needs a name! I have a few favorites for him, but before I decide, I’d love to hear your ideas,” he wrote via Instagram the same day. “Ironically, the day I chose to volunteer at the rescue was the same day they picked him up from the local shelter. The connection was instant.”

Tartick and Bristowe previously shared two dogs, Ramen and Pinot, and initially planned to share custody of the dogs after their breakup. That plan changed in September 2024.

“If you listen to this podcast or follow me at all, you know how important Ramen and Pinot are to me. They are legitimately the light of my life,” Bristowe, 39, said on her “Off the Vine” podcast at the time. “It kills me to leave them [whenever I travel]. They have the greatest dog sitter … [who] comes to my house, so they don’t have to leave.”

She added, “What I realized in sharing custody with the dogs is that they get very scared and very uncomfortable and very anxious not knowing where they’re going and when they’re coming back. This is not personal to anybody [and] it happens when they’re in one house and when they’re in my house.”
