Jelly Roll is cruising along on his weight loss journey, revealing he’s lost nearly 200 pounds.
“I started at 540 pounds and I was 357 pounds this morning,” the country singer, 40, said to host Pat McAfee during the Big Night AHT live show on Wednesday April 9, per a clip shared on X. “I’m gonna lose another 100 pounds.”
Jelly Roll (real name Jason DeFord) added that once he hits that next milestone, he has plans to “go skydiving” with his wife, Bunnie XO, in Sweden.
Jelly Roll publicly kicked off his health journey last year. The singer revealed he had lost around 70 pounds.
“I’m probably down 70-something pounds. I’ve been really kicking [butt], man,” he told People in April 2024. “I’m doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. I’m doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day.”
Jelly Roll felt “really good” at the time — but was inspired to keep the work going.
“If I feel this good down this weight, man, I can only imagine what I’m going to feel like by the time I go on tour,” he noted.
The following month, Jelly Roll participated in a 5K with comedian Bert Kreischer for Netflix Is a Joke Fest. After reaching the finish line, the Grammy nominee opened up about how proud he was of his accomplishment.
“I couldn’t walk a mile when I started trying to do this back in January,” he told Entertainment Tonight in May 2024. “So the fact that we got 3-point-whatever it was, got it down, I felt really, really good about it.”
By that October, he revealed that he achieved the milestone of losing 100 pounds.

Jelly Roll also showed off how he incorporated his lifestyle changes — which included exercise regimens and dieting — while on tour. He gave fans an inside look at his go-to meals alongside his chef, Ian Larios.
Larios shared that he has prepared Jelly Roll’s go-to preshow snack: a banana topped with manuka honey and dark chocolate sweetened with stevia. For bigger meals, Larios created a healthier alternative to Jelly Roll’s favorite meal: a Nashville chicken sandwich and fries. Larios cooked up the fries in bone broth to increase its protein level, while the chicken was dredged in potato flour and air-fried instead of the traditional batter and oil.
