Jen Shah is celebrating love while in prison.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum, 51, shared a rare update to Instagram on Wednesday, Aug. 27, to commemorate her 31st wedding anniversary with her husband, Sharrieff Shah.
In her first of two posts, Jen uploaded a snap of herself and Sharrieff, 54, posing together in front of an artsy backdrop, while surrounded by photo booth props. “Happy 31st Anniversary today to me and my baby,” Jen captioned the image, which appeared to be taken as she serves time in prison for her role in a long-running nationwide telemarketing scheme.
“Words cannot express how much I love and appreciate you. You bring so much joy to my life & I am forever thankful for your overwhelming love and support as we approach this next chapter. Thank you for blessing me with two amazing young men,” she wrote of her sons, Sharrieff Jr. and Omar. “I love you so much & can’t wait to hold you again soon. 💕.”
Jen followed up her post with another snap of Sharrieff with his arm around her during a July visit, as she posed again in her inmate attire. “❤️8.27.1994❤️,” she captioned the snap.
The anniversary also got some love on the reality star’s official website, where she shared it with the title, “Happy 31st Anniversary to Coach Shah & Jen! 08.27.”
Jen, who hasn’t posted on Instagram since February, last shared a Valentine’s Day and birthday shoutout for Sharrieff on the platform, calling him an “amazing” husband. “Even from miles away, my love and gratitude for you are stronger than ever,” she wrote. “Thank you for sticking by my side and never letting go of my hand. I Love you, Jen ❤️.”
Sharrieff, an NCAA football coach, met Jen when they were both students at the University of Utah. A rep told PEOPLE in 2023 that he “still sees her often” since she began serving time and that “they talk on the phone frequently.”
It’s been over four years since Jen and assistant Stuart Smith were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money laundering in March 2021.
In the years since, the RHOSLC alum entered a guilty plea in July 2022 before being sentenced in January 2023 to 6.5 years in prison. At the time, she apologized for her actions and having “hurt innocent people.”
As she’s served time at Bryan Federal Prison Camp (FPC) in Bryan, Texas, her sentence has been reduced multiple times and she is expected to be released in 2026.
Her last update on her website came in May, when Jen shared an image of herself jumping rope outside and revealed that her team has shared “many loving messages” from fans with her.
“I’ve heard about the Met Gala references, the infamous GIF of my feet touching the snow in the heels from RHOSLC, and my personal well being. I am in great spirits and well,” she shared, thanking supporters for being by her side over the last two years.
“The consistent love and admiration from my supporters, my loving family, and my faith keeps me going as I make it through this rehabilitative journey of coming home soon,” she continued. “I wanted to share a personal image that I mailed to my team of one of my shahmazing workouts. I remain consistent in my passion for fitness and helping other inmates achieve similar goals. You will see more soon. I can only control what I can control.”
