Jennifer Lopez Brings Child Emme to Broadway Opening of ‘Othello’: ‘Most Amazing Date’

Jennifer Lopez and one of her twins, Emme, stepped out for a glamorous red carpet outing together.

Lopez, 55, and Emme, 17, flashed wide smiles as they posed for photos at the opening night of Othello on Sunday, March 23, at New York City’s Barrymore Theatre. Holding a loving hand on the shoulder of Emme, whom Lopez shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, the singer stunned in a two-piece black embellished ensemble. Emme, meanwhile, donned a grey pinstripe suit paired with drop earrings.

Emme, who has a brother named Maximillian, also featured in an Instagram Story posted by Lopez that evening. “I have the most amazing date for the premiere of Othello, the black tie premiere of Othello, here in New York tonight,” Lopez said into the camera from the back seat of her ride before shifting the camera over to Emme.

Offering a quick wave to the camera, Emme was seated right beside Lopez, who burst into giggles after Emme waved, then declared that she was “super excited” for the evening to commence.

The opening night revival of Othello, starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, drew a string of A-list guests including Samuel L. Jackson, Anna Wintour, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana DeBose, Liev Shreiber, Rosie Perez, Martha Stewart and Spike Lee.

Lopez recently marked her twins’ 17th birthdays, sharing a celebratory video via Instagram on February 23. “Seventeen. I love you beyond forever,” she captioned the clip, which featured footage of the children cuddling up to and kissing their mother on the set of various photo shoots and behind the curtains of live shows.

Other candid memories in the tribute video included selfies of the trio lounging at home, snaps from family holidays and other cozy moments, paired to the sound of Miley Cyrus’ song, “Edge of Midnight.”

In December 2024, Lopez, who is currently single after finalizing her divorce from Ben Affleck on January 6, spoke honestly about her role as a mother, revealing that she has questioned whether she is “enough” for her twins.

“It says a lot about the character of someone, when people are good and loving and supportive of each other, what they can accomplish,” Lopez said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that was published on December 2. “I’ve been a single mom at times in my life, and [I’ve asked,] ‘Am I enough for them?’ And the truth is, all you need is really one good parent to love you.”

Lopez and Anthony were married for 10 years before divorcing in 2014. As for Lopez and Affleck, 52, the pair were married for about two years before Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024.
