Jeremy Renner is sending some birthday love to his Marvel costar Paul Rudd.
The 54-year-old actor posted a birthday message on Instagram to his Avengers: Endgame costar, who turned 56 on Sunday, April 6.
“Happy Birthday to my dear friend Paul Rudd I raise a glass to you … you sexy SOB!,” Renner wrote of PEOPLE’s 2021 Sexiest Man Alive, including a slideshow of the two that featured a fake movie poster with the caption, “50 Year Old Virgins In Theaters Now.”
The Tag actor also included photos of him and Rudd posing together, with Rudd wearing a blue suit and a graphic t-shirt with Renner’s face on it.

The Hawkeye actor discussed how much Rudd’s friendship has meant to him when appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2023, sharing how his costar visited him while he was in the hospital as he recovered from his New Year’s Day snowplow accident.
“So Rudd, who I love so much — he happened to be in town as well promoting his movie and he came by a couple times to the hospital, always just makin’ my day ’cause he’s one of the funniest guys around, right, Paul Rudd? And then he sent me a video message,” Renner shared on the late night show.
“Anybody know Cameo? Where they can pay money and a movie star can say, ‘Hey, Happy Birthday!’ ” he continued. “So he made a fake one. I didn’t even ask him to. He made a fake one like I paid him money for a Cameo.
In the Ant-Man star’s video, Rudd put on the full Cameo experience, referring to Jeremy Renner as “Jerry” while speaking to him as if he was a fan.
“Hey Jerry, I heard you were a little banged up — got into a fight with a snow blower, apparently?” Rudd said. “Anyway, I just wanted to send this video.”
“It’s really from the heart, and I hope you’re feeling better,” the Death of a Unicorn actor continued. “It sounds like you are, apparently, you’re a pretty tough guy. So maybe I’ll get to meet you one day, and wouldn’t that be something?”
“In the meantime, take care, and take it easy for a while. And next time, maybe just let the snow melt,” he added with a laugh. “Feel better Jerry.”
