Jessica Chastain had her kids by her side for a major career highlight.
The actress, 48, received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, Sept. 4, and was joined by her two kids — daughter Giulietta, 7, and son Augustus, 5, whom she shares with husband Gian Luca Passi — for a rare appearance.
While her kids didn’t pose for photos at the event, Chastain thanked them in her speech for their support. “I want to thank my family, Gian Luca. I want to thank my kids — my everything,” she said while accepting the honor. “This honor belongs to all of you.”
Toward the end of her speech, the actress gave another sweet shout-out to her kids. “To my children, thank you for the way you move through the world — curious, fearless, [and] full of whys, so many whys, reminding me every day to keep learning and keep wondering.”
Chastain is extremely private about her two kids and doesn’t often speak about them in public. However, in 2022, she spoke Marie Claire and recalled a chat she’d had with her daughter during which the star gave her advice about what she wanted to be when she grew up.
“Normally I never talk about my personal life. But I had a conversation with my daughter not that long ago,” began Chastain. “And when you’re talking to kids it’s like, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ ‘I want to be a ballerina.’ And she was like, ‘I want to be a mama.’ And I was like, ‘That’s a great thing to be. But you know, you can be more than one thing.’ She’s like, ‘What do you mean?'”

“I said, ‘Well, look at me, honey. I’m a mama. I’m an actress. I’m a producer. I’m a business owner. I’m a friend. I’m a cook.’ I started listing all these things,” the mom of two continued. “Like, I am many things, so you can be whatever you want.”
“You can be the president. You can be a ballerina. You can be a mama. And it was so shocking for her to hear all of this,” she added.
Chastain married her husband in 2017. They began dating in 2012 and welcomed their first baby, daughter Giulietta, in 2018. They went on to welcome their son Augustus in 2020.
