Jessica Simpson’s Daughter Maxwell Is All Grown Up in New Selfie: ‘Let the Good Times Roll’

Jessica Simpson’s look-alike daughter Maxwell Drew is all grown up.

The singer, 44, shared a new selfie with Maxwell, 13, on Wednesday, June 4, to celebrate her sixth-grade graduation.

“Let the good times roll into the 7th grade my beautiful Maxwell Drew 🎓✨💛,” Simpson shared alongside the photo of the pair.

In the pic, Simpson rocked big hoop earrings and layered necklaces, while Maxwell looked lovely in a pale pink frilly ensemble. Both ladies wore their blonde tresses down.

Commenters sent their congratulations to Maxwell, with some noting how much she and her mother resemble each other. “Sisters,” one follower wrote, with another adding, “Beauty and brains like mom 👸🏼.”

Maxwell is Simpson’s eldest child with estranged husband Eric Johnson, from whom she split in January after 10 years of marriage. They also share son Ace, almost 12, and daughter Birdie, 6.

“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”

Simpson has recently dipped her toes back into the music industry with the release of her new EP, Nashville Canyon, Part 1, in March. The first song from the album, “Use My Heart Against Me,” debuted in February.

“Music makes you un-become to become, and through this process my soul has been pulled to the very place it belongs,” she wrote via Instagram on February 21. “To the girl I was, I love you. To the woman I am, I am proud of you. To the woman I am becoming, I am excited for you….lets do this…it’s GO TIME.”

Simpson also made her first TV performance in 15 years during the American Idol finale on May 18, hitting the stage to deliver two tracks: her new song “Blame Me” and her famed 2005 rendition of “These Boots Are Made for Walkin,” a reimagining of Nancy Sinatra’s 1966 hit. She was joined by contestant Josh King, who was eliminated earlier in the season.

“Oh, my God, I was dying,” Simpson quipped in an interview with Extra after the performance. “I can’t even tell you how long it’s been since I’ve been that nervous. Like, I had to put hairspray on my feet to stand still, like, not that it actually keeps me put, but, like, my feet were sweating. I’m like, ‘My feet don’t sweat.’”

She added, “I just kept telling myself, ‘Do not cry. Do not cry. I know this is a big moment … do not cry.’ And then I see my dad [Joe Simpson], like, up in the corner and I’m like, ‘Ah, I’m going to cry. I’m going to cry. Do not cry. Just sing your songs. Just sing your songs.’”

On Sunday, June 1, Simpson posted a series of selfies and shared a message of self-acceptance via Instagram.

“If we want the light to push through our soul, we have to put down our emotional shield and make the choice to remove the alienating walls of armor,” she shared. “A strong person is often found in the aloneness of character building while creating space for the higher purpose of self. Every ‘no’ is guiding you. The wait is preparing you. Trust that the divine detours in life are perfectly guiding you to who you are becoming. Let yourself soak in the light of a new day. It is a good day to have a great day 💫✨💛.”
