Joe Jonas Goes Offline to Debut New Song ‘Heart by Heart’ Ahead of Upcoming Studio Album (Exclusive)

Joe Jonas debuted his new track, “Heart by Heart,” on Thursday, April 24, and he used the world’s oldest social network to do it: the bar.

Jonas, 35, performed the song and shot part of its accompanying music video live at an event for Heineken at its “Off Socials Bar,” which offered an ironic, offline take on the global addiction to social media and our phones.

“This is a really fun event, I mean Heineken has been an amazing partner, we created a really fun campaign,” he told Us Weekly. “Tonight we’re going to do a lot of things, sip a couple of Heinekens (responsibly), and I’m also performing my new song live. It’s going to be fun. Let’s get off social and be social.”

Jonas joined influencers Seth Phillips (a.k.a. DudeWithSign), Yankees pitcher Luke Weaver, Victoria’s Secret models Martha Hunt and Graice Carvalho and others at the bar, whose windows were decorated to resemble Instagram Reels, encouraging attendees to make their posts IRL.

“I chose to debut my new song offline and in-person because it felt like the perfect time to return to what music is really about: connecting with people,” Jonas added in a press release. “The crowd was so real, so present, and completely locked into the music — that is something you can’t experience by watching on social media.”

“Heart by Heart” is Jonas’ third single from his upcoming album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, which is scheduled for a May 23 release after a delay. Jonas initially intended to release his second solo album last October.

“I just loved the messaging behind it,” Jonas said of “Heart by Heart” in an interview with Billboard published Friday, April 25. “I really felt connected to it, so we did some tweaks, and I recorded it last year around the summer or fall. We held onto the song for a while. It felt like the song I really wanted to be the next single of my album, so I’m positioning it in a way where it speaks to where I’m at in my life and the emotional side of where I’m at.”

While Jonas is preparing to release his new album, he’s also working closely with his brothers on the Jonas Brothers’ seventh studio album, Greetings From Your Hometown, due out in August. The group will also launch a 20th anniversary tour that same month, beginning at MetLife Stadium in their home state of New Jersey.

They announced their upcoming tour in a letter to fans via Instagram in February, in which the brothers thanked them for their support over two decades.

“We wake up each day filled with gratitude that you’ve been on this 20-year journey with us,” they wrote. “Together, we have celebrated wins, made mistakes, overcome obstacles, and grieved losses. Put simply: we’ve all grown up together.”
