As the world is falling in love with him all over again for his role of Dr. Michael Robinavitch on The Pitt, it’s impossible not to reminisce about why we all fell for Noah Wyle in the first place more than 30 years ago on ER.
From kicking off his tenure as John Carter in 1994 to getting all dressed up for some of the starriest red carpets in Hollywood in the years that followed, Wyle made his mark on the industry early on.
In honor of latest renaissance, here are some of our favorite photos of Emmy nominee.
Paging Dr. Carter
Wyle landed his breakout role as John Carter on ER in 1994. He played the physician for 15 seasons until the show ended in 2009.
TV Star Charm
While riding the ER wave Wyle was a red carpet staple in Hollywood. Above, the baby-faced actor attends the 1995 Golden Globes Awards, where he wore a classic tux.
Leading Men
In 1994, Wyle and his equally handsome costar George Clooney stepped out together in coordinated looks for the Fire & Ice Ball in Century City, California.
All in the Details
With a drink in one hand, Wyle looked oh-so-’90s at a 1995 event in L.A. where he rocked a Hawaiian shirt and … is that an earring?
Hey, Batter
He showed off his sporty side at a charity event at Yankee Stadium in 1996.
Fun and Games
When the Jurassic Park ride opened up at Universal Studios in 1996, Wyle was on deck — and from the looks of it, was certainly in the splash zone.
’90s Icons
And with two hit shows airing around the same time, it’s no surprise that Wyle crossed paths with the likes of Courteney Cox. The two were all dressed up at the People’s Choice Awards in 1995.
Suit and Tie
And there’s that earring again. This time, at the TV Critics Association Awards in 1995.
Daddy Duty
Wyle might be a … zaddy to us, but in real life, he is a father of three! He shares two children with his ex-wife Tracy Warbin and a daughter, Frances, with his wife Sara Wells, seen here.
In Line
During the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023, Wyle showed his support for the cause by hitting the picket line with a ‘Union Strong’ shirt and and wide-brimmed hat.
He’s Still Got It!
And today, Wyle is just as handsome as he was 30 years ago — albeit with a sprinkle grey hair.
