Justin Bieber Changes His Instagram Username amid Sharing 12 Instagram Posts in 1 Day

NEED TO KNOW

  • Justin Bieber posted 12 Instagram in-feed posts on Thursday, June 26
  • His tenth photo included a glimpse of play time with his son, Jack Blues
  • Amid his posts, the singer changed the name of his Instagram handle

Justin Bieber just made a major change to his social media presence.

On Thursday, June 26, the “Never Say Never” singer, 31, posted an Instagram carousel of his baby son Jack Blues and debuted his new username: @lilbieber.

Previously, the Grammy-winning singer’s Instagram handle was his full name. The singer hasn’t formally announced the name change or provided details and context for it.

The “Sorry” singer added two snapshots of himself and Jack, as his baby boy sat in a cardboard box filled with a few ball pit balls. He and wife Hailey Bieber welcomed Jack in August 2024. The photos of him and Jack enjoying play time marked the singer’s tenth Instagram in-feed post on Thursday, June 26.

“🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️,” he captioned the Instagram photos.

Bieber has shared several photos of his son this past month, including a black-and-white photo on Tuesday, June 24, and a photo of Jack with Hailey “playing” the piano on Father’s Day, as well as a cute photo of the singer holding Jack at home on Friday, June 13.

Although Bieber has shared several photos of his son throughout recent weeks, the singer has also been posting series of cryptic social media posts in recent months.

On Wednesday, June 11, he posted a smiling black-and-white selfie to Instagram and discussed the “secret” to life in the snap’s caption. Alongside The Little Dippers song “Forever,” the “Baby” singer wrote, “The secret in life is forgiveness.” That same day, he also shared an Instagram carousel featuring six blurry selfies, including kissy faces, topless shots and blurry images.

Days later, on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15, he added a series of screenshots of text messages he exchanged with a friend before deciding to abruptly cut them off for good.

He appeared to accuse the friend of critiquing his behavior amid a struggle with unspecified trauma. “I would never suppress my emotions for someone. Conflict is a part of relationship. If you don’t like my anger, you don’t like me,” Bieber wrote in the first message, before sending, “My anger is a response to pain I have been thru.”

“Asking a traumatized person not to be traumatized is simply mean,” he added.

The next day, he shared more of his thoughts on people offering their unsolicited advice.

“People keep telling me to heal,” he wrote. “Don’t you think if I could have fixed myself, I would have already? I know I’m broken. I know I have anger issues.”

Bieber continued, “I tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people who told me I needed to be fixed like them. And it just keeps making me more tired and more angry. The harder I try to grow, the more focused on myself I am.”
