Justin Bieber and his family are in mourning.
The “Sorry” singer announced on social media that his grandfather Bruce Dale has died. He was 80.
Bruce, who was dad to Justin’s mother Pattie Mallette passed away “peacefully” in their hometown of Stratford, Ontario, April 24, according to an obituary published by a funeral home in the same town. After his grandfather’s passing, Justin penned an emotional tribute to Bruce, who he called “Papa.”
“I always took all ur money lol. I remember u specifically telling me, gramma gave u an allowance of 20 dollars for the WEEK!” he wrote on Instagram April 26 alongside a photo of himself holding Bruce’s head in his hands taken just before the release of his first EP My World. “I would always convince you to spend on snacks at the hockey game on Friday nights. Reluctantly you always gave it to me. Corn nuts, skittles, gum balls, chuck a puck, slush puppies, Shout out to the jr b referees Beatty, Fagon, Flanagan lmfao.”
