Justin Bieber is admitting that things got tense between him and his wife Hailey Bieber’s doula when she gave birth to their baby son.
In a video shared to social media from one of the singer’s Twitch streams earlier this week, Justin, 31, shared that he and his wife’s doula got into an argument while Hailey, 28, was in labor with their son Jack Blues, now 14 months.
“I remember dealing with, like… There was tension with,” he remembered, explaining, “’cause we had a doula, and then we had a nurse as well. And the nurse and the doula were really kind of butting heads.”
“Then I was butting heads with the doula, and it was just like this… And I was hella emotional because it’s like, this is one of the most important times of your life, and I remember just like, I think I was being really strong with the doula,” the “Daisies” singer continued.

Justin said that the tension in the room made Hailey anxious, so she made him apologize to the doula. “So she’s like, ‘You need to apologize to the doula,’ ” Justin said of Hailey. “Just clear the air.”
As he apologized, Justin said he remembered telling the doula how important his son’s birth was for him, too.
“I don’t want you to take away from my moment either as the dad,” Justin recalled telling the doula. “‘I got this too.’ There’s times when I need to console Hailey, and I felt like she was pushing me to the side so that she could do [her job].”
Justin added that he had “good instincts” as a first-time dad.
Earlier in October, Hailey appeared on the In Your Dreams with Owen Thiele podcast and opened up about leaning on her support system for help with Jack Blues.
“I do have help,” she said. “I have full-time help and I’m super not ashamed to say that, and I would never shy away from talking about that because I wouldn’t be able to have my career and do the things that I do without the help, and I’m really grateful for that.”
“If he’s not with me, he’s with his dad,” she added, referring to Justin. “He’s always with his family, and he’s always with one of us, or with his godparents.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the Rhode founder told host Owen Thiele that she “definitely” wants more kids after welcoming her son.
“I know I want more than one,” she shared. Hailey then went on to rave about her love for being a mom.
“I always knew I wanted to be a mom, though. Since I was a little kid, I always envisioned myself having kids,” she shared. “You know what’s funny? The older I’ve gotten and now that I have a kid, I think any decision anyone makes about having them or not having them is totally amazing.”
Hailey said that motherhood hasn’t been without its challenges, since the thought of welcoming a son at 27 years old felt “daunting.”
“I do think there were fears around it. I didn’t know what to expect. Once they’re here, you just figure it out day by day. And it’s like every single day I’m learning about how to be a mom and what’s best for my son and what’s best for me as a mom,” she explained.
