Kaitlyn Bristowe Hates When People Say ‘Wait Til You Have Kids’: ‘I Birthed’ Dogs

Kaitlyn Bristowe is weighing in on her bond with her fur babies.

“The most pure form of love. For me. Personally. I haaaate when people say ‘wait til you have kids.’ IM 39 SUSAN,” Bristowe, 39, wrote via her Instagram on Saturday, April 12. “I have dogs. And I birthed them. Period. It’s late. Goodnight.”

Bristowe, who set the upload to Sneha’s “So This Is Love,” shared several black-and-white videos featuring the reality TV star snuggling her dogs.

“I didn’t know the cure for anxiety was also the main reason for anxiety,” Bristowe wrote in her comments section. “I cannot live without them.”

The former Bachelorette previously shared golden retrievers Pinot and Ramen with ex-fiancé Jason Tartick, who she dated for four years before announcing their split in August 2023. While the former couple attempted to facilitate a split custody arrangement with the dogs, Bristowe shared that they were advised against it when the pooches began playing dead to avoid switching homes.

“I’m doing what’s best for the dogs,” Bristowe explained in a September 2024 episode of her “Off the Vine” podcast. “[Jason] is more than welcome to see them if he is in town for the weekend or wants to take them for a walk. I would never keep them from anyone.”

Tartick, for his part, adopted Teddy in March. “When I met him, I instantly fell in love and there was no turning back at that point,” he exclusively told Us Weekly of the puppy. “I’m obsessed with him.”

After Tartick debuted the dog’s name, Bristowe alleged during a tell-all episode of her “Off the Vine” podcast earlier this month that he stole her “dream baby name.”

“It’s not that I’m not over him. I’m very much over him. I ended the relationship. I did not want to be in that. It felt icky to me. It felt like everything was for Instagram and numbers. I did not want to be in it. But to get a dog name that dog my dream baby name that I’ve had in my baby names for 10 years,” Bristowe claimed. “I said, the day I met him, ‘I want to name my baby Teddy.’”

She continued, “I know I seem very angry, but it’s more like, I don’t like feeling disrespected. I just have so many gross feelings from that because for so long I was made to feel crazy, and now I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m not crazy.’ I just saw what other people are seeing now. It’s just not aligned. What I want out of life is not what he wants, and two people shouldn’t be together like that. I’m not fully angry. I’m just really grossed out and disappointed.”

Days after her claims, Bristowe took to her “Off the Vine” podcast Facebook group to share that she stands by her comments.

“Yes Teddy is a common dog name. Yes he can name his dog whatever he wants,” Bristowe said in the post. “AND it’s f***ed up that he knew it was my dream baby name. We talked about it for years. Yes I have major things to work on in relationships AND I’ve already done so much work, I have seen tremendous growth in myself. I’m so proud of who I am today. My timeline of processing and being who I am doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s standard for a timeline.”
