Kaity Biggar has the same style as Michelle Obama.
Biggar, 30, who announced she tied the knot with her Bachelor her season 27 lead Zach Shallcross on Wednesday, June 11, opened up about her bridal details while chatting with fellow Bachelor Nation couple Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile on an episode of their “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast on Thursday, June 12.
After Biggar shared that she always wanted a “simple” wedding dress, she explained that she imagined wearing extravagant earrings with the look — so she went shopping at Kendra Scott.
“The earrings were the main thing that I was trying to go after,” she said. “I went over to Kendra Scott and I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I’ll find something in here.’” Biggar went on to explain that she fell “in love” with a pair of 6-carat lab grown diamond earrings, featuring an oval stud connected to a larger rock, set in a gold bezel.
“I was like, ‘Can I see these? How much are these?’ They’re like, ‘Oh, they’re $10,000,’” Biggar explained. While the earrings were out of Biggar’s budget, she shared that she has a friend who works at Kendra Scott who was able to lend them to the nurse.
After explaining how she got the elegant earrings in her possession, Biggar revealed that Obama, 61 is the “only other person” who had worn them.
Shallcross, 28, then clarified that his wife wore the “exact same earrings” as the former first lady, and not a different pair.
Pitt joked to Shallcross that he needed to start saving up to buy the earrings for Biggar, but she quipped that she would “probably never wear them again.”
Biggar also took to Instagram on Wednesday to share that the jewelry “cost more than” her dress.
The Bachelor alum also revealed that she was going to choose a “very simple Anthropologie dress” for her nuptials but ended up shopping at Pronovias in Austin and fell “in love with a dress” there.
“I always wanted a simple, elegant dress, and I didn’t want strapless until I tried on a strapless dress and I fell in love with the cut of it,” she explained. “I just felt truly so beautiful and I felt like a princess in it. I got very emotional in it, as well. It was that moment where it was like, ‘Wow, this is the dress.’” She completed her look with $119 lacy Betsey Johnson heels.
For her reception, Biggar ditched her A-line gown for a pearl-embellished Sherri Hill dress, which she paired with Bella Belle heels. Shallcross, for his part, looked “like James Bond” in a State Liberty tuxedo.
The couple met and fell in love while filming The Bachelor in 2023. At the end of the season, he got on one knee and proposed to Biggar.
