Kamie Crawford says “life has been great” since leaving Catfish after hosting the show for six years.
“Since then I’ve been really focusing on my own projects and trying to produce shows and different things that really make my heart sing, which has been amazing,” Crawford, 32, shared at Us Weekly + Maidenform’s Reality Star Style Awards party on Tuesday, April 22, at The Highlight Room in NYC. “And then my relationship advice podcast just won a Webby award today so … big day. It’s been great.”
Crawford, who left the MTV reality series in October 2024, felt that she had done her time on the show and it was just time to move on.
“A lot of people don’t stay at their jobs for six years,” she told Us. “People moved around all the time and it was my time. I had done what I needed to do. I felt very confident about that. And I’m so happy with everything that we’ve done with the show and I just felt like for me, I did my part. I left my mark and I was ready to do my own thing.”
While she worked with cohost Nev Schulman for all of her time on Catfish, Crawford noted that the twosome “haven’t spoken” since her exit.
“But that’s OK,” she added. “Life goes on and everyone movies in their own direction and I wish him nothing but the best. And I wish myself nothing but the best. … People leave jobs all the time and sometimes their coworkers are in their wedding and sometimes they never see them again. And that’s OK. It happens.”
In October 2024, Crawford announced that she was leaving Catfish after joining the show in 2018.
“After six years of living my absolute dream working on Catfish — one of the most iconic shows in television history — it is with a heavy heart and much consideration that I have decided to move on to my next adventure,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement at the time. “I am proud of the work we’ve done and the impact I’ve left and I am forever grateful to Nev, Critical Content and MTV for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and shot at a dream I’ve been working towards since I was 19 years old.”

Kamie Crawford is just like Us! The former Miss Teen USA, 30, hosts three reality shows and a podcast while managing to maintain her fitness — and it’s all thanks to the power of caffeine. “My day doesn’t start until I’m well caffeinated,” Crawford tells Us before sharing her go-to Starbucks order: “A grande iced […]
While she has been busy with her podcast and focusing on new projects since Catfish, Crawford has also been exploring with her own personal style.
“I feel like I have a lot of things in my closet, but not a lot of things that go together,” she explained to Us. “So I’ve been trying to do this thing where I’m finding my personal brand and I feel like a lot of it is tailored blazers. I’m obsessed with classic key pieces, putting them together and just effortless, chic, timeless. That’s my vibe.”
