Kandi Burruss defended her support of Todd and Julie Chrisley after they were pardoned and released from jail.
“What’s the problem? Todd & I were cool before he ever had this legal issue,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 49, wrote via X on Tuesday, June 3. “I’m happy that him & Julie are out of jail.”
She continued: “What y’all so pressed for? Me being happy for them has nothing to do with my political beliefs.”
Burruss’ remarks came after a fan posted a screenshot of her comment on Todd and Julie’s son Chase Chrisley’s Instagram page where he celebrated his parents’ return home from prison.

“God is so good! Our rocks are back!! Thank you to Mr. President @realdonaldtrump @potus for making a remarkable decision and bringing our family back together!” the caption read. “We love, support and thank you Mr. President! God Bless you and your entire family!”
Burruss replied, “Congratulations!!!!” with a red heart emoji.
Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, were pardoned by President Donald Trump last week following their 2022 convictions for bank fraud and tax evasion. In 2019, the Chrisley Knows Best stars were indicted on tax evasion, bank and wire fraud and conspiracy charges and were ultimately found guilty. They have always denied any wrongdoing.
Todd and Julie were both released from prison following the news. After being reunited with their family, Todd held a press conference alongside his and Julie’s daughter Savannah Chrisley. (Julie was not present because she wanted to be home with the couple’s 12-year-old adopted daughter, Chloe.)

“I want to thank first and foremost my lord and savior because that’s who got me through it,” Todd said during the press event. “[Savannah] has fought a long fight and for any parent to see their child fight this hard, it’s a double-edged sword. It’s a blessing and then your heart breaks because your child has been placed in that position. … I will always be grateful to [Savannah] from the bottom of my heart.”
Todd also confirmed that he and his family will be returning to reality TV. Savannah shared some additional details about the upcoming Lifetime project on her podcast.
“It’s going to be absolutely amazing because it follows us from beginning, middle to end,” Savannah teased. “It started with us explaining the case and having lawyers on, and the advocacy work, to 1749074869 Mom and Dad getting full presidential pardons. … I’m so excited that they’re home, they’re going to be part of it, and we get our new start at life.”
