Kate Hudson is helping to prepare “all moms” — including Kylie Kelce — for the highs and lows of parenting teenagers.
In a new clip from Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Hudson, 46, opened up about her experience as a mom of three. Hudson shares son Ryder, 21, with ex Chris Robinson and son Bingham, 13, with ex Matt Bellamy, as well as daughter Rani, 6, with fiancé Danny Fujikawa.
“If you put the effort in, it does come back, you know?” Hudson said in the video shared via YouTube on Monday, April 28. “And then the only other thing I would say to all moms is let your kids go. Let them f***ing go. Don’t hold on, don’t expect anything of them. … The second you hold on too tight, it’s gonna drive them nuts.”
Kylie, who recently welcomed her fourth daughter with husband Jason Kelce, agreed with Hudson’s perspective, noting that trying to hang on might make kids “push back harder.”

Travis Kelce admitted he’s not the most qualified person to be doling out parenting advice — but that hasn’t stopped him yet. During a bonus episode of “New Heights” released Thursday, April 24, via Wondery+, Travis, 35, and his brother, Jason Kelce, returned to their fan hotline to answer questions about raising kids. “Don’t forget […]
Hudson added, “Just let them go and enjoy their life. Let them be for a bit. … And what you realize, is you might go a week or two and they’re not gonna call you. But when they do and they need you, it’s OK.”
The actress also reflected on being “a young mom” with her eldest son, telling Kylie that the experience helped them grow up together.
“He’s so clued in, and there just was a moment about a year and a half ago, and he was like, ‘You alright?’ And then he shared his perspective on something in my life based around just my schedule,” she continued. “How busy I was, how much I was putting out — just life things. And he shared his perspective and I realized … he’s giving back to me right now. He’s seeing me right now. It’s pretty awesome.”
While Hudson is embracing her kids getting older, Kylie is soaking up the early years with daughters Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finn, born in March.

Earlier this month, Kylie confessed that she has a theory as to why “the universe” decided to make Jason, 37, a girl dad.
“I think he has a very skewed idea of women, which is probably why he has four daughters,” she teased on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “It’s why he was blessed with four daughters. The universe said: ‘He doesn’t get it. We need him to get it.’ … The only females in his house were his mom and his dog.”
Jason, meanwhile, has no problems with the couple’s baby girl streak. “We got to give up on that idea [of trying to have a boy],” he said in a February interview, revealing that he and Kylie have “talked about” him getting a vasectomy. “It’s like, ‘Do you want to have another child?’ Then, we’ll do that. But I think as of right now, that’s not definitely happening.”
