Kate Middleton Hands Out Bundles of Shamrocks During 1st St. Patrick’s Day Event After Cancer Battle

Princess Kate Middleton celebrated St. Patrick’s Day after missing last year’s events while receiving cancer treatment.

Kate, 43, attended the Irish Guard’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in Wellington Barracks, London, on Monday, March 17. The Princess of Wales was all smiles as she handed out bundles of shamrocks to members of the Irish Guard. As per tradition, the Princess of Wales wore an all-green ensemble, which included a long coat paired with a matching scarf and hat. She accessorized with a gold shamrock pin and emerald earrings.

Kate is Colonel of the Irish Guards, a role that she took over from her husband, Prince William, in 2022. The appearance marked Kate’s first St. Patrick’s Day event since 2023, when she and William, 42, both gave speeches honoring the passing of the significant role.

“It really is a true honour to be your Colonel,” Kate said at the time. “I am here to listen to you, to support you, and to champion you in all you do. This is a responsibility I do not take lightly.”
