Love wasn’t just part of the scoring at Wimbledon — there was also plenty of it for Kate Middleton!

Following the gentlemen’s singles final of the Grand Slam tennis tournament on July 13, the Princess of Wales headed down to Centre Court to award the trophies to the first-place finisher, Jannik Sinner of Italy, and the runner-up, Carlos Alcaraz of Spain.

After shaking hands with the ball boys and girls, Princess Kate, 43, headed over to the table where the trophies were, and a fan broke the silence by shouting, “I love you, Kate!” The royal appeared to hear the declaration, laughing in response.

Kate presented prizes in her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, a role she received from Queen Elizabeth in 2016.

Alcaraz, who previously accepted trophies from Princess Kate after winning Wimbledon the past two years, gave a quick bow as he approached her to receive his second-place award. Sinner and the Princess of Wales also chatted briefly as she gave him his trophy.

The gentlemen’s singles final was held on the fourteenth and final day of the Wimbledon Championships, and Princess Kate attended with several of her family members. Kensington Palace announced on July 13 that Princess Kate would attend with her husband, Prince William, and the couple brought along their elder two children, Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10, in a surprise appearance.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ youngest son, Prince Louis, 7, didn’t tag along for the day out, as his parents might be waiting to take him to Wimbledon when he is a little older! Prince George and Princess Charlotte both attended Wimbledon for the first time when they were 8, and Louis only recently turned 7 in April.

Wimbledon is a summer staple on Princess Kate’s summer calendar, and she has attended almost every year since marrying William in 2011.
