During an appearance on “Call Her Daddy,” Perry told host Alex Cooper why she and Bloom split in 2017.
“We weren’t really in it from day one,” the singer admitted. “He was, in a way, because he had just done a time of celibacy and he had set intentions. I was fresh out of a relationship and I was just like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond.’”
While Perry had “yet to do some real work” on herself, Bloom went to a weeklong retreat “to rewire all [his] bad habits.” When he returned, the duo were not on the same page.
“He went there, and then he came back and he wasn’t playing this cat-mouse game with me anymore,” Perry recalled. “And I was like, ‘Hm.’ I was so used to this push-pull. … I was playing games because it was a dopamine hit. It was what I knew.”
Perry later decided to go to the retreat herself, and found that she then “spoke the same language” as Bloom.
“It changed my life, it saved my life,” she said.
Elsewhere in the interview, Perry shared that nothing gets her going quite like Bloom doing household chores.
“If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you’ve done all the dishes and closed all the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your d–k sucked,” she quipped. “That is my love language! I don’t need a red Ferrari … I can buy a red Ferrari. Just do the f–king dishes! I will suck your d–k! It’s that easy!”
