Kelly Bensimon Met New Boyfriend Robert Flood on Hinge: ‘He’s a Man’ (Exclusive)

Kelly Bensimon has a new man in her life!

“It’s early days,” the Real Housewives of New York City alum exclusively told Us of new beau Robert Flood ahead of her opening Melissa Odabash’s 25th anniversary show at Miami Swim Week. “He’s a very, very nice human. Clearly, an adult. Well-educated. Well-mannered. Does very well for himself. Good father. He’s a man.”

Bensimon, 57 — who said that Flood’s “authentic” photo is what initially caught her eye — met the Greenwich-based financier on Hinge.

“I’ve been on Raya for a long time,” she told Us. “I think that one of the things that’s really important when you’re going on a dating app is to really present your own self… I was like, ‘Oh, my God,’ I found this one picture of [Flood] sitting there, white jeans on, these shoes, blue shirt on, and I was like, ‘He looks like a guy I went to college with.’”

The real estate mogul was previously married to Giles Bensimon from 1997 to 2007. In June 2024, Kelly called off her engagement to Scott Litner just four days before their wedding.

Kelly told Us that her participation in the iHeartRadio podcast “I Do, Part 2,” along with therapy and weight lifting, helped her rebuild her confidence and decide to put herself back in the dating pool.

“I’m kind of reverting back to my 20s and dating,” Kelly said. “Like, when I was in my 20s just having fun and enjoying myself and meeting a lot of people.”

She continued: “I’m just trying to be open and just have fun.”

But what makes this time around different for Kelly? Taking it one day at a time.

“I definitely feel like it’s much better this time because I am slowly easing into it,” she told Us. “ I feel really healthy and I feel really good about the decisions that I’m making in my life and who knows what’s going to happen in my future, but I’m just grateful for how I’m treating every day.”

While she hasn’t yet introduced Flood to daughters Sea, 27, and Teddy, 24, she said, “when they’re ready to meet him, they will definitely let me know.”

Being in the public eye definitely presents unique challenges, but Kelly isn’t worried.

“Do not ask your significant other if they cared about being in the public eye,” the model told Us. “And if you’re asking them that question, they’re not someone that you should be with.”

Kelly proves age is just in a number when it comes to more than just dating: the reality star is opening Melissa Odabash’s celebration of 25 years of her swimwear brand at Miami Swim Week on Friday, May 30.

“This is a huge honor to be walking in Swim Week. I thought, ‘I keep retiring from modeling and I keep coming back,’” Kelly told Us. “I’m like, ‘I am old, by the way.’ Why am I always coming back? But I really, really appreciate it.”
