Kelly Clarkson and Jessica Biel are sharing a couple of parenting tricks.
During the Thursday, May 29, episode of Clarkson’s eponymous daytime talk show, the two mothers swapped parenting tips. While Biel, 43, confessed that she sometimes eats in the shower to save time, Clarkson, also 43, revealed a similar tip she gave to her son, Remington “Remy” Alexander, 9.
Clarkson shares Remy and daughter River Rose, 10, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. Meanwhile, Biel shares sons Silas, 10, and Phineas, 4, with husband Justin Timberlake.
“So I have a boy and a girl. And my boy and I have a real hard time,” Clarkson began, before interrupting herself to say, “He’s gonna hate me saying this, I don’t care, because maybe it’ll shame him into doing it.”
She eventually revealed, “But he just refuses to brush his teeth.”

“It’s like a thing, and so finally, I was like, ‘Hey, let’s make a fun thing of it.’ So I was in the shower, I’m like, ‘Just take your toothbrush and your toothpaste in the shower. You can be messy. You can do whatever,’ ” she recalled.
“So that works,” the Grammy winner continued. “So now he’s brushing his teeth, if you need help,” she said, before the audience gave Clarkson a round of applause.
“I don’t know what it’s about boys. They don’t wanna brush,” Clarkson said. “My girl is always like, ‘Oh yeah, of course, I did that.’ Like I’m an idiot that I asked her.”
“And then my son, he’s just like, ‘Yeah, I totally did.’ And I’m like, ‘You’re lying. Let me smell your breath.’ ” Biel then chimed in to agree, “Yeah, no, for sure.”
Clarkson has featured her children on the show and frequently talks to her guests about them. In March 2025, she honored her motherhood journey by celebrating the 1,000th episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

“River and Remy, I love you so much. I’m so proud of you both,” she said. “They’re just fearless and very bold. They’re more like me as an adult, not what I was like as a child, so they talk a lot too. You are what I’m liking today, my little ones, and every day I love them so much.”
