The Osbourne family is opening up about their final moments spent with the late Ozzy before his death at age 76 in July.
Kelly, Sharon and Jack Osbourne appeared on the Wednesday, Nov. 12 episode of The Osbournes Podcast for an emotional conversation about the end of the late “Crazy Train” icon’s life.
“Everyone got to have their time with him,” said Jack, 40. “I talked about [it on] the podcast, you know, my kids getting the stomach flu, and I was supposed to be in Portugal, and I wouldn’t have really got to see him.”
“A lot of things kinda lined up in a — I don’t know. It’s f—ed up to say, but there was a level of perfection around it,” he continued, “because I don’t think there was anything left open. In the sense of, ‘Oh, I wish we’d have done this. Oh, I wish we’d have done that.’”
Kelly, 41, tearfully exclaimed, “I just wanted more time.”
Jack responded, “But you’re always gonna want more time.”
Sharon, 73, agreed. “You’re always gonna want more time. And this is a huge example for our little family. Time is so precious,” she said. “And don’t waste time with anyone. It’s like we always used to say, Daddy and I would say, ‘You can’t buy time.’ If only.”
Kelly then shared the “one resentment” she feels about her final days with Ozzy. “I always heard Dad going down the stairs in the morning,” she recalled. “And the first thing I always said to him was, ‘Morning, Dada, I love you.’ And I’d call it out, and he’d say, ‘I love you more’ and walk down the stairs.”
“And on the morning that he passed, I didn’t say it,” she added.
Sharon reassured, “But he knew. He knew. He knew so much.”
“One thing, Ozzy was great, and he was a master of acting — not dumb… checked out. He was a master of that,” explained the Black Sabbath rocker’s widow. “He knew everything that was going on.”
Ozzy’s official cause of death was a heart attack. However, the musician suffered a series of medical complications and struggles throughout his final years, including a Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis.
Elsewhere during the podcast episode, Sharon spoke about how she thinks her late husband would feel about the public’s response to his death.
“Ozzy, he wouldn’t believe it. He wouldn’t,” she said. “He didn’t realize how much he was loved and that was his beauty because he never took it for granted from anyone. He never took it for granted I’m this, I’m that. He had no idea.”
