When it comes to life with her three kids, Kerry Washington doesn’t have to worry about putting out little fires everywhere.
The Scandal star, who shares daughter Isabelle, 10, Caleb, 8, and a teenage stepdaughter with husband Nnamdi Asomugha, gave a rare peek inside her family life while detailing the bond their kids share.
“I’m grateful for how close they are, the three of them,” Kerry shared on the Feb. 20 episode of Netflix’s Skip Intro podcast, admitting that as an only child she’s learned a lot about the sibling dynamic through them. “I don’t know anything about siblings. When they argue or fight I always look to my husband, like, ‘Is this normal?'”
“For me, you avoid conflict, right,” she continued. “I’m learning to witness them work through stuff and how wonderful that is.”
But while Kerry is reticent to usher her kids into the spotlight next to her, she has detailed her approach to parenting—and how she sees her and Nnamdi’s roles in their lives, telling Marie Claire in 2023, ”I try to show up as the person they need to help them be the best versions of themselves.”
