Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s have gone through a lot of ups and downs — on and off camera.
Ever since the couple fell in love on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, viewers have witnessed Kim and Kroy expand their family, move into their dream home and even earn a Bravo spinoff.
While Don’t Be Tardy came to an end in December 2020, the family has continued to make headlines — both good and bad — for their milestones on and off camera.
In June 2025, Ariana Biermann will return to reality TV when she stars in Next Gen NYC, a Bravo series that follows a group of familiar faces from the Real Housewives franchise and their friends as they navigate school, business ventures and overbearing parents eager to share their life advice.
“I was a little nervous,” Ariana exclusively told Us in April 2025 before the show’s premiere. “I filmed with my family for forever. … I’m excited for people to see our side of who we are and how we are as adults.”

Kim Zolciak Joins ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’
In October 2008, Bravo introduced viewers to NeNe Leakes, DeShawn Snow, Sheree Whitfield, Lisa Wu and Kim. Fans quickly became fascinated with Kim and NeNe’s on-again, off-again friendship, as well as Kim’s relationship with a mystery man named “Big Poppa.”
In May 2010, everything changed for Kim when she was supporting Sheree’s charity event. While attending a “Dancing With the Atlanta Stars” party, she met Kroy and sparks flew. She left the show in season 5 for another special project.
‘Don’t Be Tardy’ Premieres
In April 2012, Bravo launched a spinoff to The Real Housewives of Atlanta titled Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding. Cameras rolled as Kim and Kroy documented their journey to the wedding altar.
“It’s really fun and funny and surprising,” Andy Cohen said of the show. “And then [Kroy] takes a much more active role than he has in the past. So, he’s more involved.”
The show continued for eight seasons and documented the couple welcoming four kids including sons KJ and Kash and twins Kaia and Kane.
Kroy Biermann Formally Adopts Brielle and Ariana
During a July 2013 interview with E! News, Kroy confirmed that he officially adopted Kim’s oldest daughters, Brielle and Ariana.
“I don’t know if I could love anybody else’s children as much as Kroy loves the girls,” Kim said. “I just don’t know if I have it in me.”
Ariana Biermann Is Willingly Shocked By an Electric Dog Collar
In the summer of 2016, Ariana and her parents made headlines for a controversial social media post.
According to a Snapchat video, Ariana was spotted wearing an electric dog collar. Kroy proceeded to shock his daughter because she said she would do it in exchange for hanging out with her friends.
“She’ll do anything to hang out with her friends,” Kim commented on the video. “Anything — a dog collar. Eat poop, eat poop.”

Kash Biermann Is Victim of Dog Attack
In April 2017, Kim revealed that her then 4-year-old son underwent emergency surgery after he was bitten by a dog.
“The last 14hrs of our lives has been a living nightmare,” Kim shared via social media at the time. “My sweet @kashbiermann was bit by a dog and had very traumatic injuries. I’ve never prayed so hard, or been so scared in my life.”
Kash was able to make a full recovery after the scary incident.
Zolciak-Biermann Family Meets John Legend and Chrissy Teigen
When Kim and Kroy took their kids to meet John Legend and Chrissy Teigen at a May 2017 concert, the average fan may be totally impressed.
But weeks before, Kim joked about what she would do to allow her son Kash to meet the “All of Me” singer and his wife.
“Who does Brielle have to blow in order to meet him?? LOL,” she wrote on social media. Teigen responded, “Plz don’t blow anyone it’s not that good of a show. Jk it’s good but I’ll get you tix without the oral.”
Ariana Biermann Arrested
In August 2022, Ariana was arrested in Georgia after getting into a car crash with another vehicle. After being pulled over, Ariana was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, underage possession/purchase of alcohol and misdemeanor improper/erratic lane change.
After pleading guilty to reckless driving and possession and use of drug-related objects, Ariana was sentenced in May 2025 to 24 months probation, $2,000 in fines and 40 hours of community service among other things. Other charges, including a DUI, were dropped by prosecutors.
“Ms. Biermann maintained her innocence since her arrest. We are pleased that the State of Georgia eventually decided to dismiss the impaired driving charge and offer Ms. Biermann the opportunity to plead guilty to a traffic ticket,” Ariana’s lawyer, Justin Spizman, told In Touch in a statement. “Despite her desire to fight this case, she took advantage of the opportunity to put this matter behind her and focus her energy on all the positive endeavors in her life.”
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann File for Divorce
Kim filed for divorce from Kroy after 11 years of marriage in May 2023. While the couple briefly reconciled on multiple occasions, the pair made countless headlines during their separation as they struggled to finalize their divorce.
“It’s been a really long divorce — two and a half f***ing years, and it’s still not even almost done,” Ariana told Us in April 2025. “She’s my best friend in the world.”
Brielle Biermann Gets Engaged
Brielle found her forever teammate in baseball player Billy Seidl when they got engaged in February 2024.
“I’m so happy for @briellebiermann @bseidl21. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my kids happy 💍,” Kim wrote via Instagram at the time. “It’s the best feeling EVER!! Love you both to the moon and back and look forward to alllll the years to come 🙏🏻❤️😍”

Arianna Biermann Joins ‘Next Gen NYC’
In April 2025, Bravo officially confirmed the cast for a brand-new show titled Next Gen NYC. Ariana will join Kandi Burruss’ daughter Riley Burruss, Teresa Giudice’s daughter Gia Giudice and Meredith Marks’ son Brooks Marks in the Big Apple as they navigate New York City living without their parents.
