David Beckham is thanking King Charles for his milestone birthday gift as the soccer star reunited with the monarch during an annual flower show event in London this week.
The King and his wife, Queen Camilla, appeared for a royal spring tradition on May 19, attending the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show, where they viewed garden displays and met with Beckham, who rang in his 50th birthday earlier this month.
Beckham, who attended the flower show for the first time this week, is an ambassador for the King’s Foundation and is participating in a campaign aiming to inspire young people to work in horticulture.
“Your Majesty, it’s so nice to see you,” Beckham told the King during a friendly reunion at the Highgrove shop stand, according to the Daily Mail.
“You got it, didn’t you?” the King asked about a birthday gift he’d sent.
“It was incredible,” Beckham said. “Thank you, it was very kind.”

“Nice to see you again, glad you got the roses,” the Queen also told him.
Beckham, who was sporting a new rose named after the King, also recounted his birthday celebrations earlier this month, describing a “perfect” and “busy” weekend, which he told the Queen was “a lot of fun.”
The royals’ appearance honored the historic gardening festival, which began in 1913 and was regularly attended by Charles’ late mother, Queen Elizabeth, for decades. There are 145,000 guests expected to attend this year’s show.
