Kristin Cavallari Calls Coparenting With Jay Cutler a ‘Bumpy Road’: ‘Zero F—ing Consistency’

Kristin Cavallari says her coparenting relationship with ex-husband Jay Cutler isn’t exactly predictable.

“It’s been so up and down,” Cavallari, 37, said on the Monday, December 30, episode of Bunnie XO’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast. “Zero f—ing consistency, which is really hard. It has not been easy, to say the least.”

Cavallari split from Cutler, 41, in 2020 after seven years of marriage. The couple shares children Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 9.

While the Laguna Beach alum has no interest in getting back with Cutler, she admitted that Christmas and other major events can lead to her missing a strong family unit.

“Coming from divorced parents, the last thing I ever wanted was a divorce,” she explained. “I won’t lie to you. That still will creep up once in a while. [At] Christmas I felt that. It just sucks that we’re not together as a family.”

While Cavallari tries to keep her kids and family moments off of social media, she recalled a positive memory where she was able to enjoy a drama–free afternoon with her kids and Cutler.

“We sat together at a basketball game earlier in the year, and I was like, ‘Holy f—, this is the best thing that’s ever happened. Jesus Christ, we made it. We can sit next to each other’ and we haven’t sat together since,” she said with a laugh. “What the f—? It’s a bumpy road.”

Since Cavallari and Cutler’s divorce was finalized, the former Chicago Bears quarterback has gotten engaged to Samantha Robertson.

As for Cavallari, she’s still exploring the dating world after breaking up with Mark Estes in September following seven months of dating.

During her latest podcast appearance, however, Cavallari teased that she may now have a former athlete in her life.

“I’m not going to say who it is and it’s really new,” she shared. “He retired a couple of years ago and he has so much depth and I just love talking to him.”

While life after divorce still has some challenges, Cavallari said she is always trying to find the good in her reality. She hopes that positive attitude extends to her children too.

“I think when you go through a divorce and you have kids, there are those moments where you’re like, bummer because you don’t want that,” she explained. “There’s also a lot of good that came out of that. I think even for my kids, it’s going to make them stronger. I could list a thousand things positive, but I do have those moments.”
