Kyle Richards’ Daughter Sophia Denies Having ‘Body Dysmorphia’ After Losing 30 Lbs on Mounjaro

Kyle Richards’ daughter Sophia Umansky is speaking out after facing backlash for using the weight loss drug Mounjaro.

“If you’re honest about things, people can’t even judge you or hate on you because you said it yourself,” Umansky, 25, shared in an interview with People published on Saturday, May 10. “You’re the one that told everyone, you’re owning it, so anything anyone else has to say, it’s like, ‘Okay, well, I told you that. I’m owning it.’ I think it’s fine. And I always say I’m on Mounjaro. I, obviously, talk to a doctor.”

She continued, “People who are telling me that I don’t need to be on it, they don’t know what they’re talking about. They’re not doctors. And I think everyone needs to calm down and live their own lives. And honesty will get you far in life and lying is not fun. It’s not good.”

The Buying Beverly Hills star shared that her mother is “very supportive” of the decisions she and her three sisters make. (Kyle shares Sophia and daughters Alexia, 28, and Portia, 17, with her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky. She also shares her oldest child, daughter Farrah, 36, with her ex-husband, Guraish Aldjufrie.)

Kyle Richards’ daughter Sophia Umansky has shared confronting clips of a “dramatic hair loss situation” she’s facing. Taking to social media, Umansky, 25, shared clips via her TikTok account on Wednesday, April 30, that showed clumps of her hair around the shower drain and stuck to the wall. “I am very lucky that I have […]

“I am 25 years old, so I’m an adult, I can do what I want,” Sophia told the outlet. “And of course we have guidance from our mom, and she wasn’t saying, like, ‘Oh, you should be on this medication.’ Definitely not saying that. I think she was definitely trying to veer me away from getting on this medication, but once I spoke to doctors and she saw that that’s the path I wanted to take, she was very supportive.”

Sophia went on to shut down people claiming she has “body dysmorphia,” stating, “I’m like, ‘Actually, no. I think I’m cute both ways. I think I was cute before and I’m cute now.’ There’s nothing wrong with trying to feel a little bit more confident, a little bit cuter. People get worked on all the time, they get filler, they get Botox, they do all different kinds of things. So if I want to feel a little cuter, why not?”

She shared similar comments in an interview with Access Hollywood posted on Saturday, revealing that she has lost 30 pounds on the medication so far. “Everyone telling me that I wasn’t overweight enough, I’m sorry I was not overweight enough for you,” she said. “But I have lost 30 pounds. I feel more confident. I feel better in my body. I just feel so much better. … I have no shame. I’ll tell anybody anything. I have no secrets, so I take pride in that.”

Sophia previously opened up about her Mounjaro usage via TikTok last month, revealing in a video that she was suffering a “dramatic hair loss situation” after starting the weight loss drug “four months ago.”

“I am very lucky that I have so much hair because at the rate that I’ve been losing hair, I’m gonna be bald in about a week,” she shared in the April 30 upload, going on to show glimpses at the clumps of hair she has lost in the shower.

“I don’t think it’s a direct result of the medication. I think it’s a direct result of rapid weight loss because of the medication and not eating enough vitamins, protein, all that kind of stuff,” Sophia continued, noting she’s “putting in an effort” into improving her overall health and trying out new hair products and supplements to combat her hair loss.
