Kylie Jenner wasn’t as calm and cool as she looked on the Met Gala 2024 red carpet.
On the Thursday, Feb. 13 episode of The Kardashians, Kylie, 27, revealed she was hit by a serious case of nerves as she prepped for the night. In the episode, Kylie’s sister Kendall Jenner called her to see if she was almost ready to leave. The Kylie Cosmetics founder promised she was almost ready, but in a confessional, Kendall, 29, shared, “I stress if, like, the timing isn’t working out.”
This prompted Kylie to add that when her sister is worried, she also worries. “When you stress, I’m like, ‘Oh God, she says she’s leaving; she’s leaving,’ ” she joked.

Despite a hectic start, Kylie, Kendall, their sister Kim Kardashian, mom Kris Jenner and their mom’s boyfriend Corey Gamble all made it to the carpet with plenty of time for photos. For her part, Kylie wore a form-fitting cream gown with a cone bustier and her dark hair pulled back in a sleek bun with floral accents.
From the outside, she looked calm and cool as she embodied the night’s “The Garden of Time” dress code, but inside, the reality star confessed she was feeling nervous.
During their joint confessional, Kendall said of their Met Gala outing, “Today is definitely a chaotic day, but I think every year gets chiller.”
However, Kylie disagreed. “Oh, I was shaking. I don’t know why this year hit me so hard,” she recalled.
Thankfully, her older sister was there to provide her with some perspective that helped her focus on the moment.
“Remember, I called you ,and Kendall was so calm,” she said. “You made me feel better. You were just like [here are] some words of wisdom, ‘This is supposed to be fun and let’s just have a good time.’ And I was like, ‘Okay. She’s calm, I’m calm.’ ”
For her part, Kendall wore an archival Alexander McQueen for Givenchy look from 1999 — which had never been worn by anyone else before — to the event. In May 2024, she spoke with Vogue on the carpet about how her outfit fit with the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme.
She explained to the outlet, “It’s been sleeping for the last 25 years. It’s literally a ‘sleeping beauty.’ It’s such a special moment. I feel extremely honored that they’re allowing me to wear it.”
