Kylie Jenner Says ‘Sleeping Is the Hardest’ Following Death of Hairstylist and Close Friend Jesus Guerrero

Kylie Jenner continues to pay tribute to her friend and hairstylist Jesus Guerrero.

The 34-year-old’s family announced via Instagram on Sunday, Feb. 23, that the celebrity hairstylist “suddenly and unexpectedly” died. Guerrero had a successful career with a list of clients that included Jenner and Jennifer Lopez.

Throughout the week, Jenner publicly honored her friend. On Friday, Feb. 28, Jenner, 27, shared two Instagram Stories, revealing that she has been on FaceTime calls with their mutual friend Ariel Tejada.

“sleeping has been the hardest. I love you @makeupbyariel 🫂,” she captioned the image of their FaceTime audio conversation. The screenshot showed that their call lasted around 7 hours and 20 minutes.

Tejada, Jenner’s makeup artist, reposted the Instagram Story to his profile and added: “I love you so much🥺🤍.”

Jenner then followed up the Instagram Story with a video of her and Guerrero making a silly video together in the backseat of a car. The video was accompanied by Leon Bridges’ “River.”

In her Tuesday, Feb. 25 Instagram tribute, Jenner said Guerrero was more than her friend, describing him as “a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support.”

“I don’t know how I would have made it through the last almost decade without him by my side. He had a way of making even the heaviest days feel lighter,” she wrote.

“Thank you, Jesus, for always being there for me, for lifting me up, for being my friend,” Jenner continued. “The pain of losing you is just unbearable and i don’t know how to move forward without you but I know great grief is born only of great love. and I loved you so much. You were the best person, with a talent that was unmatched. a true artist. You inspired so many, and you always will.”

That same day, Guerrero’s sister, Gris, announced to the family’s GoFundMe age that Jenner offered to cover his funeral expenses.

“When this go fund me was set up we created it thinking we would have to take care of all the expenses ourselves. We didn’t want to burden any clients with this. Our family deeply appreciates Kylie for later offering to cover funeral expenses and offering up all her help and support,” read the update.

The description noted that the $96,000 previously raised “will go toward the costs associated with securing his belongings home” and other “unexpected expenses to settle his assets.”

An insider told PEOPLE on Monday, Feb. 24 that “Jesus’ death hit her hard.”

“She is shocked and very upset. Still, she’s doing everything she can to be supportive and aid his family, including financially,” the source said. “As upset as she feels, she knows it’s so much worse for his family. She doesn’t want them to stress about money.”

Along with Jenner and Lopez, 55, Guerrero also worked with Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Rosalía, Demi Moore, Charli xcx, Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa and Lisa of BLACKPINK.
