Kylie Kelce Reveals Her Incredible List of Dos and Don’ts for Speaking to Postpartum Moms

Kylie Kelce has a carefully curated list of what “you should — and should not — say” to any woman who just gave birth.

“First up, please don’t say anything about her weight — or her looks in general,” Kelce, 33, said on the Thursday, April 3, episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, which was recorded two days after she gave birth to newborn daughter Finnley. “Chances are she’s probably not sleeping very much and, quite frankly, her body just built another human. Your input is f***ing irrelevant.”

She added, “Any of the input of, ‘You haven’t had the baby yet?’ or ‘When can you exercise again?’ [or] ‘Breast-feeding makes the weight come off quicker,’  I hope she slaps you across the face. Also, the whole ‘look great?’ Let’s instead tell her she’s doing great. Who gives a s*** what we look like right now? Not I.”

Kylie gave birth to Finn on March 30, her fourth daughter with husband Jason Kelce. The married couple also share daughters Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 3, and Bennett, 2.

Kylie Kelce is sharing what’s in her hospital bag, which is not a suitcase. On her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Kylie, 32, said after three births alongside husband Jason Kelce, her “hospital bag has not really changed.” “This is my fourth child,” Kylie explained on the Thursday, March 6, episode. “It will probably be nearly […]

During her Wednesday podcast episode, Kylie continued her lengthy list by sharing that offering to help new moms is an important “do.”

“Ask if you can do anything to help,” Kylie said. “Some examples include bring over some food, offer to babysit the older children, help with anything around the home. I mean, anything. Start the dishwasher, start a load of laundry, clean out the fridge [or] maybe bring over some groceries. Do not bring over treats and sweets for the older children, so they then bounce off the walls and want to jump across the couch while the mom is holding a newborn.”

According to the field hockey coach, it is also advised to “offer to hold” babies so a new mom can take a shower, a walk or drink a cup of coffee.

Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce went through a lot of discussions before naming all four of their daughters. The retired Philadelphia Eagles center and Kylie have been married since 2018 and welcomed eldest daughter Wyatt Elizabeth the following year. Daughter Elliotte “Ellie” Ray and Bennett “Bennie” Llewellyn followed in 2021 and 2023, respectively. The Kelce […]

“[But], don’t ask when she’s going to have another baby,” Kylie added. “Are you s***ing me? If she’s still wearing a [postpartum] diaper or an ice pad, what are you doing? She’s not even cleared for hanky-panky. Leave that woman alone!”

Kylie also doesn’t want to hear any advice about sleeping “while the baby is sleeping.”

“That is f***ing absurd. Do you know what you’re supposed to do when the baby is sleeping? Watch them sleep, of course,” the mom of four sarcastically quipped. “I’m kidding, but really that is one of the most asinine pieces of advice that people give to new moms. It’s not realistic. When are you supposed to eat or do anything or talk to other human beings or function if you sleep when the baby sleeps? That’s a dumb piece of advice.”

Kylie’s postpartum tips concluded with reminders to wash hands, avoid kissing the infant and one “don’t you dare” mention stains on the mom’s clothes.

“This is a no-judgment zone,” Kylie said. “She is allowed to have spit-up, dried milk, really anything else. The only thing you should really be tipping her off on, I’d say [is] poop ‘cause that’s just unsanitary. Everything else? You see nothing — and you smell nothing.”

Kylie further implored individuals from weighing in on whether the new mom is breast-feeding her baby.

“I mean that with my whole chest,” she stated. “Fed is best, motherf***ers.”
