Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars Will Perform Tribute to L.A. Wildfire Victims During 2025 Grammy Awards

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars will honor Los Angeles and victims of the recent wildfires during the 2025 Grammy Awards.

“@BrunoMars and @LadyGaga will take the #GRAMMYs stage this Sunday and perform a special tribute to the city of Los Angeles and those affected by the wildfires,” a Saturday, February 1, Instagram statement from the Recording Academy reads.

Gaga, 38, and Mars, 39, are nominated for two Grammys at Sunday’s ceremony for their “Die With a Smile” duet. The musicians are up for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, respectively.

“I’m so grateful for these 2 GRAMMY NOMINATIONS! 😭 Because of our amazing fans we are so blessed to be nominated,” Gaga wrote via Instagram in November 2024. “We love y’all! 😭 Monsters and Hooligans did that! 🥂.”

The brightest stars in music will be on hand for the 67th Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 2. Nominations for the awards show were announced in November 2024, and women dominated categories across the board. Beyoncé led the pack with 11 nods for her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, while Charli XCX and Billie Eilish […]

The Grammys will be the first major awards show held since a string of wildfires broke out in the greater Los Angeles area last month. The blazes devastated thousands of acres of property and killed approximately 30 individuals. Thousands of residents also left the city limits under mandatory or voluntary evacuation orders. After weeks of battling the flames, the fires are now 100 percent contained.

Many celebrities, including Gaga, came together on Thursday, January 30, to headline a FireAid benefit concert to support victims and first responders impacted by the wildfires.

“It was such an honor to sing @FireAidLA for you during this incredibly challenging time,” Gaga wrote via Instagram on Friday, January 31. “Thank you for having me, and thank you to everyone who donated. I love you CALIFORNIA, we’ll keep moving forward 🙏🖤.”

While both Gaga and Mars have had acclaimed solo careers, “Die With a Smile” was their first collaboration.

Lady Gaga teamed up with Bruno Mars for their “Die With a Smile” duet, marking her first single in two years. The mid-tempo love song sees Gaga and Mars croon, “If the world was ending / I’d wanna be next to you.” On the chorus, the Grammy winners sing, “I wanna hold you just for […]

“Bruno and I have a lot of mutual respect for each other and were talking about collaborating,” Gaga said in an August 2024 statement when the single dropped. “I was finishing up my own album in Malibu, and one night after a long day he asked me to come to his studio to hear something he was working on. It was around midnight when I got there, and I was blown away when I heard what he had started making.”

Gaga will release her next studio album, Mayhem, later in 2025.

Mayhem is utter chaos,” she quipped to Elle earlier this month. “[It] just feels good to me. It sounds good. It breaks a lot of rules and has a lot of fun.”

She added, “As I’m writing, it assembles in my brain, then through the recording, it becomes a full piece of color. Every song is a different shade. A lot of the songs on this album have a maroon, brown color to them. ‘Bad Romance’ was like that—it was reddish.”
