Lainey Wilson may have found her happily ever after in boyfriend Devlin “Duck” Hodges!
The country star and Hodges have been dating since 2021 — and if she has anything to say about it, this might be the year they say “I do.”
In an interview with Bunnie Xo for CMT, Bunnie asked to do some manifesting for the new year, and said she hoped that Wilson, 32, and Hodges, 28, would tie the knot.
“No pressure, brother! No pressure,” Wilson responded, while making a jokingly impatient face. “I might have to propose to him. We waiting!”
To that, Bunnie responded, “No, Duck’s gonna do it. I could feel it,” and Wilson was happy with that answer, replying, “I like that.”
The couple first met through mutual friends in Nashville, and made their red carpet debut at the 2023 ACMs.
“I said, ‘We gonna see if you’re in it for the right reasons.’ Turns out, he is,” Wilson told PEOPLE in 2023 of keeping their relationship under wraps in the beginning. “Somebody said how funny it was watching him high-five all of my artist friends at the ACMs, and I said, ‘Those are his friends!’ He’ll FaceTime me, and he’ll be with HARDY and Morgan [Wallen] and Luke [Combs], and I’m like, ‘Stop stealing all my buddies.’ They’ll always be out golfing and drinking a beer. I don’t have to convince anybody to like him. He’s a very lovable person.”
The “Watermelon Moonshine” singer said Hodges, a former NFL player who now works in real estate, is a major inspiration for her songwriting, and called him “one of my biggest cheerleaders and champions.”
“Duck is the kind of dude who high-fives me on the way in the door and on the way out and says, ‘Go get it,’” she told PEOPLE. “He knows how important this dream is to me. I was never really able to write love songs, because I don’t know if I had actually felt it, but I’m writing me some love songs now. I’m grateful for him.”
Meanwhile, Wilson, who performed at New Year’s Eve LIVE: Nashville’s Big Bash on CBS, also told Bunnie that her happiest moment of 2024 was getting inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in July.
“I feel like I’m right where I’m supposed to be,” she said. “Just so many things to celebrate. So if 2025 is anything like 2024, it’s gonna be another hell of a ride.”
