Lainey Wilson is recalling her early days with fiancé Devlin "Duck" Hodges.
In a clip shared exclusively with PEOPLE from the country singer's upcoming Netflix documentary Keepin' Country Cool, she pulls up a photo of herself and Hodges from the night they met.
"That was the night we met," Wilson, 33, says in the clip, showing a selfie where she has her arm around Hodges and he's holding a beer up to his mouth.
"I was broke. I was so broke when we met. And he thought I was doing a little bit better than I was. But a few weeks after we met, my sister had to Venmo me a couple hundred bucks," she adds.

Then, Wilson started singing her song "Yesterday, All Day, Every Day," and discussed her love for songwriting.
"I knew whenever I had written my first song that I loved how it made me feel when I was in the middle of writing the song," she says. "When I was coming up with the idea, feeling like, 'Man, I created something from nothing. How cool is that.'"
Wilson adds, "And I knew that that feeling was so special that I couldn't completely let it go, and I think that's why I knew it was my calling.'"
The "Watermelon Moonshine" singer and the 29-year-old NFL star announced their engagement in February 2025 on Instagram. The pair started dating in 2021 adn made relationship debut at the ACM Awards in May 2023.
Speaking with PEOPLE at the premiere of Reminds of Him earlier this month, Wilson gave an update on wedding planning.

"Girl, I need some help. I need some help," she joked. "It's going good. Honestly, we're taking our time, and I've told him, and he's on the same page."
The "Hang Tight Honey" singer added, "We just want it to be about what it's supposed to be about and just enjoy it."
As for the documentary, Wilson "redefines what it means to be a modern country star" by "exploring her struggles and triumphs at a pivotal career moment," according to the film's description on Netflix.
