A day after LeBron James learned about his Los Angeles Lakers’ shocking trade for Luka Dončić, he turned his attention to his family — specifically his wife of over a decade, Savannah James!
“The thing about it is, is that we just grew even stronger and tighter together!! 👸🏾 & 🤴🏾,” LeBron captioned an Instagram post on Feb. 2.
The three candid shots show LeBron approaching and kissing a smiling Savannah sitting courtside during a Lakers game. “This ♾️ s— can’t be f—ed with!” LeBron continued. “Love you my Queen! Ruler of the Kingdom 🏰🤎😉😘.”
This is far from the first time the 40-year-old basketball legend has publicly declared his love for his high school sweetheart. At the 2023 ESPYs, LeBron celebrated Savannah, 38, as he accepted an award for best record-breaking performance. “For our family, no one has sacrificed more and more hard work to support this family more than you,” the NBA star told his wife, “and I appreciate you for that, love you.”

These days, Savannah has not one, but two James men to root for on the Lakers court. Their son, Bronny James, was drafted to the team and is currently in his rookie season.
Savannah and LeBron also share Bryce Maximus, 17, and Zhuri Nova, 10.
In July 2023, Bronny suffered cardiac arrest during a basketball workout at the University of Southern California. He was later diagnosed with a congenital heart defect.
LeBron and Savannah opened up about the terrifying moment for the first time in Netflix’s docuseries, Starting 5. “I think at the end of the day, it was just about us supporting each other and just being super grateful for the outcome,” Savannah said in the first episode, while battling tears.
Whether it’s a health scare or a team-altering trade, Savannah and LeBron have always supported each other. LeBron is proud to highlight the strength of his marriage.
“A person like myself always needs a great sidekick and a person you can rely on no matter the circumstances,” LeBron said when describing his relationship with Savannah during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in 2010. “And she’s that. She’s got my back and I love her for that.”
