Lindsey Vonn Dares to Bare Her Thong on 2025 ESPYS Red Carpet: See the Shocking Fashion Move

Lindsey Vonn had an NSFW style moment on the 2025 ESPY Awards red carpet — and it appears to be totally on purpose!

Vonn turned heads in a strapless eggplant-colored Elisabetta Franchi gown from the fall/winter 2025 collection. The design featured a daring hip-bone grazing slit that flashed her black g-string thong. Vonn accessorized the look with statement drop earrings, a black clutch, and black platform heels. She topped off the look with a side-parted wet wave look and smokey eye makeup.

The Olympian is nominated in the Best Comeback Athlete category after returning to competitive skiing in November after initially retiring at the close of the 2018-2019 season. Vonn, 40, is the oldest woman to ever place at the Ski World Cup finals after coming in second in the Super-G race in Idaho on March 23. She will return to the Olympics stage next year at the 2025 Winter games in Milan, Italy.

Inside the ceremony, Vonn pulled off a sexy outfit change, switching into a silver fringe beaded gown with a completely sheer skirt.

The decorated athlete is no stranger to the ESPYS stage with four wins already. At last years event, she stunned in an eye-catching yellow gown, featuring a large side cutout and another bold high-slit showing off her impressive leg muscles. She also presented at last year’s show.

She styled the look with her classic blonde beachy waves, glowy glam, a black clutch and strappy sandals.

The Olympian has been rocking the red carpet a lot this summer. On July 15, she made a splash as she celebrated the 20 year mark of her partnership with Red Bull at Delilah in West Hollywood at a pre ESPYS bash.

She wore a black long-sleeve bodysuit with a deep-plunging neckline showing off a matching bralette underneath. She paired it with a black croc-embossed miniskirt with gold zippers on either side and finished the all-black look with a matching manicure, gold accessories, black stilettos and simple glam.

She posted her outfit on instagram, with the caption thanking Red Bull and her team. “When you have good people supporting you, the whole journey is so much better!!” the caption read.

The athlete revved up her look for the the world premiere of the F1 movie in New York City on June 16, rocking a messy bun with her Formula 1 racer inspired look styled by Kara Cook, The outfit included an oversize brown leather jacket tied together at the waist, and a black mini skirt by Vassia Kostara Limited Collections. She matched the look with fingerless black driving gloves and brown pointed-toe pumps.

Vonn will return to the slopes for the Winter Olympic Games in Italy next year. She recently told PEOPLE she’s “feeling great” and ready to “be locked down training” in the coming weeks. “I don’t feel my age, and I’m really excited for Cortina,” she tells PEOPLE.

Vonn loves traveling to Italy and says it’s “part of the reason why I want to come back for these Games.” Her events will take place in Cortina, roughly a two-hour train ride from Milan, but Vonn is hoping to spend some time in Italy’s fashion capital, too.

“I hope I get a chance to actually go to Milan after I compete. It’s a little tough being so far away from the venue, but Milan is … I love fashion and would love to spend some time there afterwards, but I have a feeling my schedule’s going to be intense.”
