Lori Vallow Daybell, Convicted of Murdering Her Kids, Breaks Silence in First-Ever Media Interview

Lori Vallow Daybell is speaking out for the first time. 

The 51-year-old appeared in her first-ever onscreen interview to break her silence on being convicted of first-degree murder in 2023 in the killings of her 7-year-old son Joshua “JJ” Vallow and her 16-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan, as well as conspiring to murder her husband Chad Daybell‘s first wife Tamara “Tammy” Daybell

For Lori—who denies any wrongdoing in all three 2019 deaths—she said the media’s portrayal of her throughout the trial was completely off base. 

“We all know what the media does,” Lori told NBC Dateline correspondent Keith Morrison in a March 7 interview. “They exaggerate everything and they make stuff up and they twist things around. So, I don’t know how it became what it is today. It’s amazing to me.”

Describing herself as “absolutely” misunderstood, she continued, “How do you know a person if you’ve never talked to them in five years? How do you know anything about them? How do you know anything about their life, how it really is?”
