Love Is Blind star Monica Danús still proudly stows all of her socks in an aptly titled “sock bin.”
“You guys, I am overwhelmed and blown away by the sheer number of you that also have a sock bin,” Monica, 28, quipped in a Thursday, February 27, social media video. “I’ve gotten your messages, I’ve gotten your comments. It warms my heart. I feel seen [and] I feel heard.”
She added, “Thank you so much. I really thought that I was the only one.”
Monica, who got engaged to Joey Leveille on season 8 of Love Is Blind, raised eyebrows when she shared her unique approach to laundry and organization with her man. During an episode released via Netflix earlier this month, Monica took Joey, 35, to her parents’ house after returning home from their post-pod getaway in Honduras.
While there, Monica revealed to a shell-shocked Joey that her entire family keeps their clean socks in a communal hamper. Joey, meanwhile, had never heard of the tradition.
“Have you ever met anyone [who] does this same thing?” Joey asked his fiancée in the eighth episode. “[I] wonder how many different feet have been in there. That would be something I would think about. … So funny.”
Love Is Blind season 8 was filmed in Minnesota in spring 2024, and nearly one year later, Monica still has retained her sock bin method of organization.
“Here she is in all her glory!” Monica gushed on Thursday. “All of the socks in the community sock bin, but also we have — get ready — the sock box. These are all the socks that no one really wants to wear. They don’t really go with anything, but we feel really bad and don’t want to throw them away.”
According to Monica, “it’s crazy” that her family’s sock bin has become a trending topic since her appearance on Love Is Blind.
“I love it and I think we need to make it a thing in society and in our world today,” she joked. “So, Team Sock Bin, let’s go!”
Whether Joey has adopted Monica’s laundry method remains to be seen, considering it is not yet known whether the pair made it down the aisle and tied the knot.
In the Friday, February 28, batch of new episodes, Joey and Monica took their official engagement photos and picked out their wedding attire ahead of the big day.
“I’m such a person that lives in a moment and I love each moment,” Joey told his friends in episode 11. “She’s very different in that aspect. It does not bother me … and I told her, ‘Even in this experience, I’m taking every day by day and, in the end, I’ll have an answer for you. That answer will be 100 percent one way or the other, but I will not have the answer until that day.’”
