Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox’s daughter Saga’s name has a unique meaning.
“I think her journey — the five years of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again,” Kelly, 35, said during his Friday, June 20, appearance on the Today show. “She is an epic story. That’s what saga means.”
Kelly appeared to be referring to the ups and downs he and Fox, 39, experienced when it came to expanding their family. Fox revealed in November 2023 that she suffered a “very difficult” miscarriage amid their relationship.
During Friday’s talk show appearance, Kelly also explained that the newborn’s name was somewhat inspired by his Norwegian heritage.
“That’s the Nordic goddess of storytelling,” he added. “So, she has a storytelling future ahead of her.”

Kelly announced in March that he and Fox had welcomed their daughter. (Fox is also the mother of Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green. Kelly shares daughter Casie, 15, with ex Emma Cannon.)
“She’s finally here!!” he captioned an Instagram video at the time. “Our little celestial seed.”
They kept the baby’s name under wraps until Tuesday, June 17, when Kelly shared a video of him playing music on a ukulele for his daughter.
“Saga Blade Fox-Baker,” he captioned the clip, keeping her face hidden from the camera.
Kelly and Fox were first romantically linked in 2020 and got engaged two years later. They quietly split in November 2024 after Fox announced that she was pregnant with his child.
“Megan is a great mom,” Kelly said during Friday’s Today appearance. “She’s killing it. I’m so excited.”
Despite his kind words about Fox, the two are “absolutely not getting back together at this point in time,” a source told Us Weekly exclusively last month.

“Megan thinks MGK has stepped up and is being a good dad but doesn’t think they have a future together romantically,” the insider added. “Megan is in heaven with her baby girl and is really focused on being a mom right now.”
Fox is “grateful,” however, that Kelly has been by her side in the aftermath of Saga’s birth, and their relationship is “all about the baby” right now.
“The baby is already wrapped around his finger,” the source added. “Megan has noticed his energy is different, the look in his eyes is different, his aura has changed. She feels the baby is exactly what he needed, and she is hoping it sticks.”
While Kelly has expressed that he “wants to make it work,” Fox isn’t “caving in.” The insider explained: “Megan feels at peace and closed the door on the relationship.”
