A man was arrested in connection with the murder of his ex-wife as he attempted to board an international flight.

The 67-year-old man was charged with murder on Saturday, April 4, after a woman’s body was found in the town of Little River in Victoria, Australia, according to a news release from Victoria Police.

Multiple reports have identified the individual involved as Allan Keys, the estranged husband of victim Eva Lasrini.

Police said Lasrini was arrested at Melbourne Airport on Friday, April 3, as he was attempting to board an international flight.

He was subsequently taken into police custody and now faces a charge with one count of murder, authorities said.

The day before Lasrini's arrest, authorities received a report tied to a missing 53-year-old woman from Dandenong.

Authorities eventually confirmed that the woman “had not contacted family as expected and the circumstances were deemed suspicious," and Missing Persons Squad detectives began an investigation.

They later found a woman’s body, police said in the news release. However, the body has yet to be formally identified, though it is believed to be that of Lasrini.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Lasrini was expected to visit her two daughters in her home country of Indonesia. She was reported missing when she did not board her plane, the outlet said.

Friends of Lasrini identified Keys as her “former partner," per the Australian newspaper.

According to 7 News, one of Lasrini's daughters shared a missing persons appeal online that said she was last active online around 12 p.m. local time on April 1, and her phone had been switched off since.

The outlet reported that Lasrini's daughter also wrote on social media that her mom said she was meeting her ex-husband.

Social media posts reviewed by 7 News showed that Lasrini and Keys shared photos and videos together from 2019 until this March.

The outlet reported that Keys recently shared a photo of himself with another woman on social media, writing, "New girl new life!”

A post on April 3, seen by 7 News, appeared to show him in Indonesia, but police believe it was staged.

According to 7 News, the body believed to belong to Lasrini was found about 50 miles from her home. Keys is next expected to appear in court on Aug. 10.

PEOPLE reached out to the Magistrates Court of Victoria for comment on April 5 but did not immediately hear back.

One of Lasrini’s daughters told The Sydney Morning Herald that her mom had “such a beautiful, innocent heart.”

Lasrini, who moved to Australia a few years ago, was also remembered by her friend, Marcia Harley, as “so innocent and so beautiful, and she would do anything for you.”

The victim claimed to friends that she previously experienced abuse in a relationship, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
