Man Discovers Deadly 13-Foot Cobra in His Home When Reptile Slithers Over His Feet While He Watches TV

An attention-seeking king cobra interrupted a Thai man’s TV time.

On March 8, Wicha Phumngam was watching TV inside his home in Thailand’s Trat province when a venomous snake that had entered his house slithered across his feet, according to Newsflare.

“I was enjoying a quiet afternoon watching TV when the enormous snake came in. I screamed when I saw it, and it was startled and slithered away under the shelf,” Wicha told the outlet.

Newsflare added that the king cobra continued its journey through the house after surprising Wicha, eventually settling under a shelf in an outdoor storage area.

Once the snake stopped moving, Wicha called local snake catchers for help removing the 13-foot reptile from his property.

Footage from the experts’ relocation efforts shows several snake catchers arriving at the property to remove the cobra. The clip continues with several individuals grabbing the snake using hooks and pulling it out from under the shelves it was using to hide.

After securing the cobra, the snake catchers hold the reptile with bare hands and carefully stretch it out to show off its impressive size. Then, the animal is measured and gently placed in a large white bag for relocation.

Newsflare reported that the professionals took roughly 10 minutes to locate and remove the king cobra from Wicha’s property. The snake catchers then relocated the reptile to a remote area far away from the community where it was found.

Wicha added to the outlet that he is familiar with the wild critters that can find their way into private homes in Thailand but had never encountered an intruder like this.

“I’ve seen pythons around because I used to raise chickens, but I’ve never seen a cobra this large. I have no idea why it came into my home when there are no more livestock here,” the homeowner said.

According to National Geographic, king cobras are found throughout Southeast Asia’s rainforests and can deliver a bite with enough deadly venom to kill 20 people.
