A Massachusetts man used some special numbers to win a recent Lottery jackpot worth $300,000.
The Massachusetts State Lottery said in a news release that Sylvester Semedo, of Weymouth, won big when he played the same set of numbers three times on one Mass Cash ticket.
Semedo matched the five winning numbers for the game’s Thursday, June 26, drawing. Those particular numbers have a personal significance for Semedo, according to lottery officials.
“He won his prizes with a set of numbers he regularly plays that represent the only floors his old work building’s elevator used to stop on,” lottery officials said.
Semedo bought his ticket at Jenny’s Market at 992 Middle St., in Weymouth. For selling the winning ticket, the store will receive bonuses worth $3,000.

It’s not the first time someone from Massachusetts used old familiar numbers to win a lottery jackpot. Last year, Kevin Connor, of Leicester, won $2.64 million playing a Megabucks game, CBS affiliate WBZ reported.

He told lottery officials that he had been playing the same Megabucks numbers for 30 years that is a mix of “his wife’s old landline number from when they first started dating, as well as his wife’s favorite number.”
Connorsaid at the time that he intended to pay for his children’s college tuition — and buy himself new socks.
