Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila are celebrating a special family occasion!
On Saturday, Jan. 4, the Insterstellar actor, 55, and the model, 41, each shared posts on their respective Instagram pages in honor of their daughter Vida’s 15th birthday — and they included some adorable photos of the teen as a young child.
In his post, proud dad Matthew shared a photo of Vida playing in the dirt as a kid, writing in the caption: “Vida. 15 years. Thanks for being my tech guru, so savvy, and for loving to grow things.”
The actor finished his post with a heartfelt “Love Papai,” using the Portuguese word for “daddy,” as Camila is originally from Brazil.
Camila also shared a series of photos, including one in which a young Vida is in bed with her then-baby brother Livingston, now 12, reading him a book. Another shot captures her as a kid holding a chameleon and looking at it face-to-face, and yet another picture shows her from behind, wearing a white top as she pet a horse in an open field.
The final photo in Camila’s post features the mother-daughter duo smiling and posing together for a selfie.
“Yesterday this force of a girl turned 15! May you never forget that the first person to love is YOU…. Your name says it all…Vida!” Camila wrote in the caption.
“We love you so much words can not express!” she added, along with several heart emojis.

The couple’s oldest child, 16-year-old son Levi, also shared an Instagram post celebrating his sister’s birthday. He included a photo showing the sibling pair dressed as Tinker Bell and Batman on Halloween, as well as a snapshot of them hugging as toddlers.
“Happy 15th birthday sis love you ❤️,” Levi wrote.
Vida — who was born in 2010 — occasionally makes cameos on her parents’ social media accounts and also has recently been making more public appearances with them. In June 2024, she accompanied Camila to an Hermès Birkin event in New York City, and the pair wore matching red looks.

Matthew has previously been candid about his love of fatherhood, telling PEOPLE in April 2024 that being a dad has made him “a better actor.”
“Having children, I know, has made me a better artist and has made me a better actor, because kids see things for the first time all the time. Their questions are innocent,” he said, citing his time on the HBO series True Detective.
Matthew continued, “I cannot tell them what the show’s really about, it’s not age-appropriate. So I have to go into a parable for them. … I had to become a better storyteller to tell my kids about a good guy, a bad guy and a monster.”
In February 2019, the star told PEOPLE that he thinks of his sons and daughter as his “living legacy.”
“I’ve got a large hand in shepherding my three children up until they’re 18 and out of the house,” he said at the time. “Yeah, see if I hold on to my words in a few years. That’s the thing I think I do most honorably is having three autonomous, conscientious, confident children.”
