Meghan Markle Goes Makeup-Free, Wears Adorable Tribute to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in First Instagram Selfie Video

Meghan Markle is one proud — and stylish — mom!

The Duchess of Sussex uploaded her first Instagram selfie video on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that in it, she paid tribute to her son, Prince Archie, 5, and daughter, Princess Lilibet, 3, in a very special way.

While filming the new clip, Meghan wore a pair of blue jeans with a black crewneck sweater with her kids’ names written in white cursive letters near its neck.

The mom of two was barefaced for the video, pairing her casual look with two gold bracelets and wearing her brown locks down to the side.

In the video, Meghan joyfully shares her excitement after receiving Billie Eilish merchandise — along with a signed copy of her most recent album, Hit Me Hard and Soft — that she planned to give to a 15-year-old whose home was damaged in the L.A. fires in January.

Meghan recalled meeting the teenager with her mother while visiting a community impacted by the wildfires. She shared that the mother told her that her daughter lost the beloved Billie Eilish T-shirt she owned while escaping the wildfires.

The Duchess of Sussex returned to Instagram on Jan. 1 under the social media handle @meghan after deleting her social media pages in January 2018.

While she and husband Prince Harry would later launch a joint Instagram @SussexRoyal, it stopped being updated after Harry and Meghan stepped back from their senior royal roles in 2020. Its final post was published in March 2020.

The couple have had a complicated relationship with social media, and with her new account, Meghan has only made a handful of personal updates.

As for whether her followers can expect to see her kids in her social media updates, a friend of Meghan and Harry told PEOPLE over the summer that the couple is cognizant of protecting their kids and keeping them out of the spotlight.

“Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats. He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm,” the friend told PEOPLE.

“As a dad and husband, Harry is determined to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself,” the friend added, referencing the death of Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, in 1997.

The new Instagram account was also established before Meghan’s new Netflix series With Love, Meghan premieres. The series was originally scheduled to debut on Jan. 15, but Meghan postponed it to March 4 due to the Los Angeles fires, with Netflix’s support.

“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Meghan said in a statement.
