Meghan Markle doesn’t foresee her lifestyle brand being impacted by President Donald Trump’s new global tariffs.
Meghan launched the first collection of eight products from her As Ever lifestyle brand on Wednesday, April 2. That same day, the White House announced that Trump would impose a 10% baseline tariff on all countries seeking to import goods to the U.S.
Many countries will face the base rate, while other items from about 60 trade partners, including China and the European Union, will face higher rates after being described as the “worst offenders” of trade policies deemed unfair by the White House, the BBC reported.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, spoke with Fortune on Monday, April 7, and revealed she doesn’t anticipate that the tariffs will affect As Ever. “At the moment, all of our products are currently made in the U.S.,” she told the outlet.
“But as we look at the larger context of how this is going to affect the consumer day to day, I’m very grateful that in part of the conception of this brand, I wanted to create products that look more prestige, but are more accessible and affordable,” she said. “I think during any time of recession, people still want to find creature comforts, items that can bring them joy.”
The first products almost immediately sold out, Meghan said. The collection included raspberry spread, limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb, herbal tea assortment, crepe mix, shortbread cookie mix with flower sprinkles, and flower sprinkles. Their prices range between $12 and $28.
The brand announced on April 2 that it is currently shipping domestically to all 50 states, with plans to expand internationally.

Meghan opened up about launching her lifestyle brand and new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in March, revealing that she learned a lot as an entrepreneur.
“There were tons of twists and turns — even with the name. I was figuring it out in real-time,” the Duchess of Sussex told PEOPLE of creating the collection. “I appreciate everyone who gave me the grace to make mistakes and figure it out and also to be forgiving with myself through that. It’s a learning curve.”
