From the looks of it, Meghan Markle’s Easter has been just ducky!
On Sunday, April 20, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared a clip on Instagram of some special visitors who surprised her at home on the holiday. Set to Louis Jordan’s classic hit “Choo Choo Ch’Boogie,” the clip shows Meghan standing on the side of her driveway, wearing a long white shirtdress.
She then smiles and makes an expression of awe as a mother duck and her flock of babies waddle across the driveway in a line. Meghan captioned the sweet post, “Wishing you a Happy Easter full of love….and surprises!”
She also reshared the post on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “An Easter weekend surprise! 💕.”
Since relaunching her Instagram page at the start of 2025, Meghan has given new insight into the family’s life at home in Montecito, California, including how they spend the holidays. In February, followers saw her son Prince Archie, 5, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 3 — whom she shares with husband Prince Harry — marking Valentine’s Day with red bagels and strawberries cut into heart shapes. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s family also enjoyed a green-themed meal on the morning of St. Patrick’s Day.
In the U.K., the royal family gathered for the Easter church service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Although Meghan attended many staples on the royal calendar, she never joined the royal family for their traditional Easter outing.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex skipped the mass in 2018, just weeks ahead of their wedding at the same venue. One year later, Prince Harry attended the royal family’s holiday outing solo as Meghan was pregnant with their first child (their son would arrive a few weeks later on May 6).
Meghan and Prince Harry announced in early 2020 that they intended to step back as senior members of the royal family and later relocated to her home state of California in March. However, the royal family did not gather for Easter that year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prince Harry and Meghan spent Easter in 2022 cheering on athletes at the Invictus Games in The Hague, the Netherlands.
