Meghan Markle’s Cheesy Style Statement to Celebrate Netflix Renewal of Her Show

Meghan Markle is celebrating the fact that her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, is getting a second season with a cheeky fashion statement.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, March 7, Markle, 43, posted a video to her Story in a baseball cap that read “Lettuce Romaine Calm” in green font and “With Love, Meghan” on the back while dancing in front of wisteria, presumably from the lush garden at her Montecito estate. She added the phrase “or not(!)” to her caption.

Meanwhile, Markle simultaneously shared a carousel on Instagram on her feed with another cooking pun, ahem, baked right into the caption. “Oh, how I love ASMR!” she wrote next to several clips from the current show season. “If you’re loving Season 1, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up on Season 2!”

It came moments after the streamer announced that season 2 of the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle and cooking series has already wrapped and will premiere in the fall.

The time has come to journey to Montecito. After much anticipation, speculation and fleeting sneak peeks, Meghan Markle‘s With Love, Meghan, drops on Netflix on Tuesday, March 4, at 3 a.m. ET — but before that, Us Weekly nabbed and watched advance screeners of all eight episodes. Here’s everything we learned from binging the Duchess […]

While there is little public information about what the second installment will entail, Michael Steed is staying on as director, which tells Us that the show will likely have the same polished vein aesthetically and tonally (and we’re willing to wager there will be many, many more puns).

The series opened with a shot of bees and then transitioned to Markle at the beehive. Donning a full beekeeper’s suit, she harvested honey from her apiary and later melted the beeswax to make candles. “We’re going to have a lot of honey, honey,” she told Branden Aroyan, who set up the hives and works with her monthly to maintain the colony.

Later that episode, a chalkboard on the kitchen pantry had “Workin’ hard for the honey” in Markle’s handwriting.

In episode four, Markle was exiting her Nancy Meyers-worthy pantry, and this time, “Bready or not… here I crumb” was on the chalkboard in beautiful cursive lettering. (Lest you forget, before she was a royal and an actress, Markle worked as a calligrapher and wrote wedding invitations, including Robin Thicke and Paula Patton‘s nuptials.)

Markle was the unofficial queen of food puns long before her Netflix show or lifestyle brand, As Ever, was announced. In a bombshell 2021 interview on CBS, she discussed some tabloid headlines that compared her to Kate Middleton.

When it was noted that Middleton, 42, was once praised for eating avocados, in contrast, pregnant and others linked Markle’s avocado consumption to water shortages, illegal deforestation and environmental devastation, she was quick to quip: “That’s really a loaded piece of toast.”

Now, Markle is getting the last laugh with the second serving of her series — pun intended.
